  1. I was hoping some of the California members could answer some questions for me. Do California cars have any special equipment on them to meet the states emissions test? For example-I have a 94 altima that might be coming from Texas. Will the only requirement be that it passes smog? If so what or my chances? I know it may sound dump but I always heard the term California emissions without knowing what it meant. A little back ground. I have started working out here and soon will be relocating my family from Texas. I am hoping that sometime in the next few months that I will be able to transfer to somewhere else or accept a new job somewhere else. With that in mind I would like to bring my car or cars out here and leave them plated in Texas. With the hope that I want have to pay California state tax. Since I still own property in Texas and it has no state Tax. The reason for the questions is that if I don't end up moving then I will have to stay and register the cars here and I don't want to be stuck with a car I can't register and can't sale in this state because emissions. If it is likely not to pass then I should just buy a car here and register it here. Sorry so long. Thanks in advance
  2. Maybe this is a better question. If I had an american spec s14 that had all of this stuff on it what would it be worth?
  3. I was wondering what you guys thought of this price. It's located in Germany at a military base. I am trying to decide If it would be an ok deal. Let say I bought it for 9000.00 could I part it out for anything near that in a couple of years. It's ok to drive them here in Germany. 4. The tow hook is near the center. The one beneath the headlight is a washer nozzle I believe.

  8. Maybe this translater will help. Just cut and paste the link and pick Japanese to English. http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
  9. I lived there for 3 1/2 years. I now live in Sicily. Yea Naples was great. I always tell people it's like New york city either you love it or you hate it. Its dirty and there's crime but there just something about the people and the city. Not to mention you can pretty much drive how ever you want. Both of my daughters were born their so it will always have a special place in my heart, but I would say that I like Sicily better as a whole. Sicily is like all of Italy in one place.
  10. I've had them come up on me on the autostrada around 160kph(100mph) which I think is pretty close to their limit. My landlord has one for sale so I looked into them a couple of months ago. The main problem I found was that they have been known to flip, but I already new that first hand. About 6 months ago I had one wreck in front of me. It hit a large puddle to fast and swerved into my lane. I swerved around it and went behind me and flipped on its driver side. Then slid on its side into the curb causing the un-buckeled girl head to smash out the glass roof. She did get out of it OK. The ones over here you can take the roof off. I think they would be dangerous for young drivers. Some of the worst drivers here are young adults in smart cars. I think its because they are like go karts and are pretty quick that they think it can do anything.
  11. Try bimmerforums com. I love my 05 325ci. They are exspensive to moddify but unless your going to race it there is really no need. Not that has ever stopped anyone from trying.
  12. I am going to go look at a 90 300zx that the owner says has a bad transmission. He says that it's slow out of the whole but does fine at hwy speeds. Does anybody know what this could be? Does it sound like something that could be fixed with a rebuild? What would be my replacement options? I did a search on a manual conversion but I still have a lot more reading to do. What am I looking at price wise for a new tranny? Any suggestion would be appreciated.
  13. I just found a 90 NA 300zx in the paper. It has 104k miles auto in good condition except for the tranny. The owner says that it does drive but is slow out of the whole? Any Idea what that could be? He says the timing chain has been replaced as well as all belts. His ad says make an offer. What do you think it is worth? I will ask in the drivetrain section about tranny options. Thanks
  14. This link is from a German car locator. This guy seems to have some clean 70's model Japanese models. The prices seem a little high but who know If you can find these old ones in Japan anymore. Plus shipping might be cheaper from Germany. Once you click on a particular car click the picture again to see other photos. http://home.mobile.de/cgi-bin/homepageSearch.pl?sr_qual=EGN&sort=2&language=de&customerId=553032&partnerHead=1
  15. It looks like some one changed the link. Unless it was always some sort of homoerotic religious porn.
