  1. Last October a few friends and I went to Japan on a Z trip. Since we were there we asked around if anyone sold the adapters that would allow the use of Z32 calipers on a S30. One of our group members found a source and we ordered a set. I bought an extra set to see if there would be interest in recreating them here in the states. Before I get them made I'd like to see if anyone is interested in buying a set. I just picked them up today and will visit a few local machinist to get prices next week. I'll post up the cost soon but if you're interested in a set you can post below.

Equizyme unfortunately everyone pulled out of the buy. I refunded everyone's money last week. If you haven't received yours let me know.

    Brackets for Z32 brakes on a S30

I will be going to place the order for the brackets this week. Due to the increase in the cost to make these brackets it is the equal to what I'm charging so If you would like a refund send me a message with your paypal address.

    Brackets for Z32 brakes on a S30

Update #2: The cost to machine the brackets have gone up 40% since the last time I ordered them. I'm confirming that it's the best price he can give me and I also have a friend with a CNC that I'm reaching out to. I'm not interested in raising the prices to buyers. Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop.

    Brackets for Z32 brakes on a S30

First update: I called the machine shop this morning and the owner is in Germany until May 7th. I'll send the order in when he gets back so for those that still want to order you've got a little more time.
  6. I'm running a group by on the bracket for the Z32 calipers which I think are the same as the GTR. If you have the measurements I can confirm with my set up. Here's the link:

    JDM Legends show

I agree. It's a good authentic show. I wonder if they will do any motor swaps or just pure jdm restorations.

    V10 240Z build on YouTube

I don't think he'll go through with the 5 inches shorter wheelbase idea. My guess is he will swap the motor and trans then go with TTT or AZC suspension. There are so many better options than moving the front wheels back 5 inches. Here's a quick video of a guy that swapped a v10 into an e30 without the shenanigans he's proposing:

I think JoeK used a 5 lug hub with the brackets. He posted pictures of his set up a couple pages back. Since we have 8 people signed up I'll start taking payments. My paypal is [email protected] and please make sure you put your screen name on the payment and send as a gift or add the 3% paypal charges. I'll update the post to ensure everyone is counted. Thanks

If that's true then it makes it a lot easier set up. You're added to the list.

I have them installed on my Z with the rotors. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the rotor by itself. Here are a few pictures of it installed.

I haven't tested on a S130. You want to be the first to give it a shot?

    My Carbon Fibre 280z!

How would you construct a carbon fiber door without a cage in the car? Consider that it's a street car with some track time.
  20. I've seen this car develop over the years at each Nismo Fiesta and all I can say is it is even more awesome in person. I can't wait to see it next month.

    My Carbon Fibre 280z!

After reading rturbo 930's response I want to look at pulling the skin off my doors and then possibly overlay cf onto the frame. I'm not sure if that would work but it does have me thinking about how to make it work. I'd be interested to see what you come up with as well.

    The making of Zilla Z

I've owned my 280z for over 24 years through high school, college, military deployments, marriage, kids and moving overseas. It's been through more iterations than I can remember and it's in the process of going through another. This time will hopefully be the last major change for the car. This time I'm replacing the 280zx turbo motor with a RB26 unit. Here's some pictures of what it used to look like before I started tearing it apart: The L28et was smoking so I decided to modernize the powertrain. Out came the motor that had powered the car for years. I started looking for a RB26 motor for literally months because I wanted to be able to see the compression check for myself. I eventually found a JDM shop 4 hours north of me that they had just received days before. My son and I took a road trip to Dallas to pick up the motor and that's when the fun really began. The turbos were shot which was no big deal since I wanted to go a little bigger than stock. I found a set of rebuilt stockers with metal exhaust wheels. I also ordered a few goodies and had parts polished while my mechanic did the 100k service on the motor, installed the Tomei adjustable cam sprockets, and installed the magnets for my SDS hall sensor. The intake is from Ks Racing. They're sold on ebay and by the looks of it I think they're a real bargain for the price. The welds look really nice and he was able to change the angle of the inlet so it doesn't hit the strut tower. I won't know how well he did with the angle until it's mounted and in the car. The good thing is if anyone wanted to buy one for their Z he would already have the correct angles for them. I should get the motor back next week however as anyone whose tried to go the route of an RB26 it can drain your funds fast. My goal is to have the motor in the car and running by Christmas and by the looks of it I'm ahead of schedule. Is that even possible? We'll see.

    My Carbon Fibre 280z!

Ah ok that makes sense on the roof. Are you concerned with the lack of side impact protection of the CF doors?

    My Carbon Fibre 280z!

I saw this 370z at Zdayz a few years ago and talked to the owner. The main body was skinned but he said because the car flexed the carbon fiber has small cracks in it. I'm sure there is a way to do it but that's a big commitment with no guarantees later on. The s30 flexes way more than a 370z so that might be an issue.

    My Carbon Fibre 280z!

I had the same idea! It's funny how cf is cheaper than paint. lol I couldn't tell in the video but what did they do to your roof? The doors look cool but are you concerned with side impact? Here's mine:
