  1. no AC or PS, its a semi race car I suppose. It is registered though, and will be street driven on a regular basis. Speaking of which, finally got to drive it. Getting tuned today
  2. I then wet sanded the whole car, it was disgustingly dirty. Here is a before/after.
  3. Cool man. I thought about going turbo 5.3 but I think i'm going to stick with the vg, i feel the motor just hasnt been pushed very far. If it ever comes out a turbo 5.3 is what will be going in lol. Out with the old, in with the new.
  4. Yessir. Not really a daily driver persay but it is registered. We will see what happens after I take it to the track, i'm hoping to be well into the 9's so she might be getting a cage soon, but i doubt that will change me driving it on the street much lol.
  5. Wow been a long time since I updated here. I'm going to skip over all the boring stuff cause I have big updates And how she sits now: AND SHE RUNS!!! http://s63.photobucket.com/user/twinturboz161/media/20130929_185603_zps9f2d4a0b.mp4.html
  6. Thanks! http://rossmachineracing.com/ Thats where I got most of my aluminum stock (fuel rails/plenum)
  7. Well the car is almost done, changed alot since my last update. Ditched the twin walbro's and the water to air and decided to go air to air. Built the intercooler using a garrett core and made my own end tanks. Also got the downpipe done. i/c piping water outlet painted the engine bay since most of the fab work was done vacuum block last time on the stand: Motor dropped in: added the wastegates and dumptubes: oil fill cap got a new dd lol fit twin 044's in the tank... what a ***** that was lol car saw the outside light for the first time in a year mounted maxima coils And here is how she sits right now.
  8. Nah I've never ran the car in gainesville, I used to live in Orlando so I went to OSW alot.. now that im up north the closest track is in valdosta @ sgmp.
  9. Those headers look awsome! nice setup. Do you have the turbo braced at all? Are they 16g? The car started its life as a na 300zx, swapped in a tt motor in 2005 and the madness began
  10. havn't updated this thread in a while but heres what i've been working on... Got the fuel rails done, Intake manifold some what together and also cut the tops off the valve covers: Also picked up my aem My origional plan was to run twin walbro intank pumps, but the more I think about it i'm leaning towards going with a single external. I have looked at aeromotive eliminators but have read that even witht he voltage controller they still run hot on street cars. I've seen a couple people run a magnafuel pump and i'm really leaning towards going that route. Anyone have any experience with these pumps? http://www.magnafuel.com/products/efi/pumps/MP-4301.htm
  11. I have a q45 tb I plan on integrating into my cold pipe for a project I am working on, however I have heard of people taking them apart and not being able to get them to reseal properly once back together, anyone have any experience taking one apart and any issues with it resealing? If it leaks after i take it apart and weld it, i cant exactly just get another so I need some feedback. Nick
  12. I have had my thermal arc 185 for a couple months now and I love it. I tried using a diversion and it is a nice machine, but i don't like the "kid toy" type adjustment and the non removable torch so going watercooled later isn't a option.
  13. no updates =[ I have been slacking guys, been busy with christmas stuff/family/gf and will be tied up till xmas, but I did get a sweet early xmas present that I can't wait to put to use.... My plan is after christmas I should have a solid 2 weeks of nothing to do but work on this so I hope to get it very close to finished.
  14. got some updates... Also got a new lip for the car and I have had these turn signalsfog light ducts sitting around forever so this will be the new front end when i go to get it painted The intake manifold has gone through a couple revisions But this is the final one, It's not finished yet, brining the valve covers/lower plenum to get cleaned monday. I cut the roof of the plenum off so thatI can weld the inside around the ports and smooth them out. Also drilled the lower plenum for the injectors, they are going to sit alot lower, just havnt cut the bungs yet. Thats all for now, was hoping to get alot done this week but I caught a cold and have been in bed/playing xbox for the last 2 days lol. But I should have the intake mani finished by the end of this week and the valve covers flattened as well. The goal to finish it by is the first week of jan so ima have a good xmas break working on it.
  15. its the makings of one lol, havn't finished it yet =D
  16. exhaust is going through the fender. Heres some pics of the crossover done. I am going to redo the drive side vband and move it back a couple inches so it's not so close to the cold pipe. and a waterbox for the water/air just waiting for my gas lense to get here then I will be welding up the crossover/manifolds
  17. Ya I definatly will, i'm getting ahead of myself though, still have this z32 project to finish up lol, then I will start on my "daily driver" project http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1078919#post1078919
  18. made a bracket for twin wabro's, fits like a glove, just need to source another stock sock for the 2nd pump got a jig made to hold the turbo for the crossover. and how the turbo will sit, dont mind the angle iron, the jig isnt welded completly and i didnt want it to snap lol from the 40lb turbo weight lol fits pretty good....should have the cross over done tomorrow and hopefully get the intercooler mounted as well.
  19. Ya i went through that thread, 240's have almost identicle placement when it comes to the steering rack/crossmember/steering colum, and have a even smaller tranny tunnel. I think I might be giving it a shot when I find a new na shell to mess with, I don't mind fitting a aftermarket hood, and it seems the shifter has a few options for lengths, i'm prepared to do some fab work, but i'm not prepared to give up ac haha. As for geometry, the car will be my daily with a hint of a road course car, but its not going to be a all out track car so honestly, where the motor fits it fits, also with moving it foward, if it interfers w the radiator, i will run a front mounted radiator and call it a day. Good luck with your swap man seems to be coming along nicley!
  20. Got a question, I notice every swap cuts out the firewall/tranny tunnel, i have read a bunch of info on z32 ls1's , but has anyone actually tried a gto pan? I've seen it mentioned, but never seen why it wont work. I see that every 240sx ls1 swap runs a gto pan, and some don't even modify the crossmember, but i figure if you did a tubular crossmember, trimmed the gto pan you could sit the motor pretty far back till it hits the tranny tunnel, hammer that bitch and get it as far as possible w/out cutting the fire wall. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/732970-nissan-240sx-s14-modded-gto-pan-tons-pics.html ^ is a good example of what i'm talking about. Are you planning on keeping ac? I'm trying to figure out if i can have a dd 6.0L iron block z32, but ac is a requirement =[
  21. car went a best of 10.8@124 on boost. Car is a th400 btw, never got a clean pass on the bottle. This setup i'm going for single digits on a bone stock long block, we'll see what happens lol. I'm just trying to get the setup done. After that, i'm going to be building a block/heads on the side while i mess around w the stock motor and when it pops or i get eveything together it will be getting a bigger single and i'llbe going for 8's but thats a long ways away.
  22. Alright so heres a few before pictures of the z and its new garage Old setup^^ Anyways... new setup is consisting of the following: 71mm Holset hx52 single throttle body plenum with Q45 90mm tb top feed rails w/ 900cc injectors twin walbro pumps water/air intercooler aem lots of other misc stuff but thats the major stuff. Also, interior is getting redone black w/ new carpet car will also be getting repainted white and the engine bay black. My new toy (idk what happened to my picture of it, but between these 2 you get the idea) ThermalArc 185 Tig,...i love this thing and the reason behind all this nonesense motors out, old setup is all off, bye bye twins the replacement: Play time is over. radiator positioning, ignore the ghetto mounts, i just wanted to see how it fit up. and lastly, a before and after of my engine bay to this point: before... after... cut out the battery tray (all rust is just surface rust so it will all be grinded down when the bay gets painted. alright well manifolds are done (tackin wise) w/ collectors and vbands. and got my fuel fittings/fpr Heres some pics of the manifolds in the car, I can remove either one with no trouble with the motor in I ended up shortening the passengerside about a inch to clear the turbo better, but this is where the turbo is going to be sitting in the bay. and the intercooler (which is going under the nose panal) Thats all for right now, should have the cross over done by the end of this weekend hopefully, then time to start on the intake manifold
  23. Ya I will for sure. I'm moving into my new place w a 2 car garage all to myself in 16 days from now, also get my new tig, and my z will be making it's last passes as a twin turbo car this saturday. But I will definatly be posting pic's, been planning this setup for a long time.
