Mine is out of a mid 80's Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
  2. My lights went out in the rain once. Blown fuse caused by a rusty old side marker housing. I went to a pick and found a nice clean one. Once it was replaced it stopped blowing fuses. By the way it blew the bulb apart. Look around and make sure you don't have a problem (turn signal, tail light or side marker) where water got to something.
  3. See if some of this post might help you! http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=69813&highlight=280zx+e-brake+problem
  4. Thanks Pusher... Jon, The MSA fix was to send me instructions with hand writing in big black letters "For 240 Strut Assy." on both sheets... And my order shows a 1976 280Z on it. When I first got them I saw the 4" sleeves and never tried to fit them. This has been my third call to them and they think I should spend more money and find 240 housings to fix their mistake! This was on a 2700 dollar order at that. I'm tired of dealing with them and I ask Ross C for the right parts this time.
  5. Pusher, where did you get your sleeves for the 280 tubes from? Both Ground Control and MSA sent me ones that will not fit over the 280 tubes, they will fit the 240 2.02" OD tubes...
  6. Report them to the BBB... Follow on the other two people you sent there and see how happy with the work they are!
  7. Try here, it shows in stock... http://www.nissanparts.cc/cart/?pn=38335-N3100&submit.x=10&submit.y=3
  8. If I recall someone on here cut the max bracket down to look more like MMS brackets! Which you can just cut off the backplate! Here is one of Ross C's cutomer that installed the billet brackets he makes. Should give you some kind of clue on removing the plates... http://www.nitrophotos.com/240z/reardisk.html
  9. I sent them to the address at Gmail shown in you pic at the bottom of you post...
  10. I see you have a 77 280Z from your other post! Is this what you plan on installing the coilovers on? I got sleeves from Ground Control and what they sent will not work on the 280Z tubes! I also got a complete setup from MSA and what they sent will not work on my 280Z tube! When I ordered I was told they would but they don't... I now have to find 240 housings if I stay with what I got because everything is for the 2.02" OD size. Did you get the little 4" sleeves from GC like I did? I've been told a couple of diff stories from MSA so far... Section the front, section the rear, section both front and rear... The MSA kit came with the BZ3015's for the front of a 240Z that go in the rear tubes, so I know they will be sectioned... They also sent the BZ3099's for the MR2 that go in the front (which BTW is about 1 5/8" shorter then the 240Z inserts). Which make me think both Front and Rear will need to be sectioned. Like I was told the last time I called MSA. So before you cut up a good 280 tube see if you sleeves fit over them or if your going to be like me and forced to find all four tubes in good condition first. I glad I did not take my NOS 280Z loaded with OEM struts apart yet! BTW I can email you a picture of the instructions MSA sent me if you want them!
  11. Been there read that... But my main question was MSA said to cut the REAR TUBES and use the Front Struts there! Then take the MR2 inserts and use then in the front! This does not help also because the 4" sleeves they sent for my 280 are the size of the 240 housings and so are the adj camber plates. I ordered all the parts for a 280 and nothing is fitting... Thanks for you input I guess I'll have to wait on the instructions MSA is mailing me... Like I said I have all 280 parts and ordered what I thought was a coil-over kit for a 280... When I ordered I was told they came with 240 front struts and I would need to section the front tubes... One more time they sent things for a 240 and I've had them tell two diff things so far.
  12. What year are you doing this on? If you have a 240 or early 260 you should not have problems like I'm now facing... Johnc, Do you know where someone can get the right sleeves and the lower seats with lock rings for the 2.185 OD strut tubes. I order a coil-over kit from MSA and everything is for a 240 2.02 OD tubes. They sent the BZ3015's for the front of a 240 but say put those in the rear housings and cut them. They sent BZ3099's which are for a Toyota 87-89 MR2 and say use them in the front tubes. They are mailing me some instructions but have me all messed up on what to do now! Like get tubes for a 240 and put my 280 stuff on them because I already have new bearings, seals and other 280 parts! I also have my 3:70 LSD and ZXT adap's from Ross that I'm going to be using. Any suggestions you might have would help me!!!! I do have a pair of BZ3012's for the 280 front struts and the adjustable camber plates don't fit over the top of those struts as I recall!
  13. I would use some MMO in the fuel tank, cylinders, oil then turn it over a few times and add more MMO in the cyiinders and then let it sit over night. Pull the fuel line at the filter and use a jar to see what the fuel looks like if there is any, if none is in it add fresh fuel with about 4 oz of MMO in it. If there is and it's nasty drain the tank, change the filter before you try to start it still with some MMO in the fuel. This will help the injectors out... Drain the oil with some cheap dino stuff and change the filter with fresh oil and you can add some more MMO in it. If you get it running let it run for a while then I would change the filter and oil again if the other fresh oil look OK. Flush the Rad, change the tranny and rear-end fluids, check the brakes and maybe flush the fluid with fresh Dot 3 stuff. Lube suspension parts and so on. Check all Fuel lines for leaks including the injector hoses, check all water lines and vac line. You get the ideal!
