  1. Its actually mounts from an 70s F150 if I remember correctly.
  2. Im planning on welding in cross brace under the floor somehow, havent got the mounts yet but Ill have to figure something out, but yes I think it will work, it works on many cars out there driving around right now.
  3. Talked to brian this week, they are done and he sent me a link to the site where they will be sold, I wont post the link, Ill leave that to him but it looks like there going to cost 325$ plus 53$ in shipping. THREE CHEERS FOR BRIAN !!!!
  4. Well Ive been working on this project now for about 2 months and I guess Ill finally post some pics, I'm not a master mechanic this is my first project car. Im very happy to get constructive criticism, unless your going to make fun of me for going ford... because thats just not cool. in the end it will have a slightly modified carb 302 from a fox body, full cage, auto meter gauges, decent looking interior(black), fuel cell, dual exhaust cobra R wheels and some canary yellow paint. well lets start in the beggining the day I brought her home. oh ya now thats custom, it was down near the transmission, Im guessing to reduce the slack... Then we pulled the dash all the carpet that was left and the motor (Oh and when I say We I'm talking about my buddy DJ hes my main help on this one. OK then I pulled the wiring harness emptied out the engine bay and pulled most of the interior stuff off. ya this is gunna be fun oh ya and we pulled the fenders off Removed all the front end stuff for cleaning repainting and replacing bushings Great way to store the parts you aren't working on lol stripping some of the paint off the engine bay Removed the battery area rust Never leave your friends alone with a can of spray paint.... Guess Im lucky its a number and not something else. Ok now for the bad And this is the engine bay as of this weekend... Chassis saver paint (similar to POR15) brushed on then undercoated over it. Well next is getting my metal fabricator buddy to come over and help with the rust spots. I cleaned most of the front end stuff this weekend. now I just gotta order the urethane bushings for the front and put it all back together. then Ill probably cut out the spare tire area and start fabing up my fuel cell mount.
  5. I did look for the answer on here so please be nice if this has been discused in a previous post. My under the hood frame rails have some rot on them and im looking to replace them, I looked at baddog. For the 280z it says that they weld over the existing. I need replacement will these work or would I just be covering up the problem? thanks
  6. Ya still want it sorry never made it to the bank I'll try and get u the money today
  7. Ok so there not ment to come out. Sure that makes sense haha. Well there's one question down, I called abc last night and they want 150$ for the ignition cylinder thing. Sooo I think I'll be using a screw driver for the time being.
  8. This is my 280z I bought last weekend ,The first picture is where the ignition bolts to the steering shaft, I got two of the screws off but the other two do not appear to come out, is there anyway to fix this? the second picture is where the key goes in, I'm guessing its missing the whole assembly. I need to know what I have to do to make it work. I can stick a flathead in there and turn it like there was a key in it. I know nothing about the key thing so don't hesitate to explain like I know nothing. thanks guys
  9. I just bouth my first Z car its a 78 280z. Its pretty bad right now but all the peices are there, the biggest challenge for me on this car will be the rust. I have never worked with removing rust and replacing metal but thats why i bought this car, to learn. Ive got my short block 347, working on getting it running. Ill put a T5 behind the small block ford and this thing should be a rocket. It has a long way to go and I look forward to going back and forth with you guys about this project. This weekend I'll be stripping the floors of all the paint rust and sound deadning to see just how bad it all is. any suggestions on how to go about doing this. I was thinking some paint stripper scrapers wire brush and some sanding stuff.???? I wanna get it all down to bare metal fix all the rust then get a good coat of paint on it.
  10. What do you want for the floor pans?
  11. Ya i bought it from him but it was a lil more in my price range, yup it's got sone rust but that's something I wanted to learn how to fix but thanks for the response
  12. Are floors in a 78 280z the same as a 80 280 zx?
  13. Ya I think i found a 280 in Austin for 900$ thanks for the reply
  14. Im looking for a 240z, in the East Texas area but im willing to drive about 250 miles. I found one in my town for 500$ agreed on the deal guy told me he was out of town and would call me when he got back. 5 days later he finally returned my call to tell me he had sold the car and "sorry for your time" A mans word just isnt what it used to be:fmad:. Any way im looking for one in the nehibor hood of 500$ I also have a 1980 280zx not far from running that I would be willing to put twords the car.
