Default Anyone have a fuel-cell on DD 240/260/280?

I'm planning on selling my gas tank, shaving the fuel filler door, and installing a fuel-cell in the "trunk" area.

My question is, has anyone done this with their DD and have problems with extreme gas fumes in the cab? Or is it miniscule?

I'd like to know what im getting into before i go through the hassle of installing the cell, Thanks.

You would have to pop the hatch every time you fill up, and chances are you are going to drip some gas from the nozzle into the car.

I dont have one, but alot of people on here have stated they wish they didn't do the fuel cell for their dd.

Hopefully they will chime in.

I have no issues what so ever with mine. I fill it carefully, and don't get even a hint of fumes...

What I've always wanted to do was cut out the spare wheel well and weld a beaded sheet to give it some rigity and flush up the trunk floor. Then get a fuel cell, or make a custom one that went under the trunk floor and have a fill tube going behind the license plate like you see on other cars.

I am going to use a cell, with the filler tube in the factory location.
