Default New upgrades for the 2JZ 240z

I've been pretty quiet lately, but have a little progress to share. I suck at posting pics, so here the shots from my album here.
Parachute mounted...

and in the business end...

I still have my work cutout for me, as I am awaiting my TechnoToyTuning rearend setup, and have to install the new TEC III with the 4-bar MAP sensor and THEN see what it's capable of...

Some one once told me a car without a chute may run hard , but a car with one chute is twice as fast ,but a car with two chutes wont waste his time on you. I believe you deserve two chutes....Unless thats two in there already your ready to go!!!

Looks good Mike! Will you make DNI with the car done? I thought the wife drove a white 350z?

Hey Justin,
The solid axle was going into the Z, but I decided to jump on the TTT rear end stuff. Now it is on Ebay...
item #170195728116
.. along with some other stuff I am trying to convert to cash
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZgadwaw
(shameless plug, but thanks for setting me up )

Jeff - DNI is still a possibility...just a distant one... I am doing what I can though
I had to look at the pics again... the car in the garage next to the 240z is our 07 solar-orange 350z roadster.

Tombarace14 - my cage is only good to 8.50's and I am not interested in adding any more bars to it. Legally, I'll be limited to that.

What size wheels and slicks are you going to be running with the 5 lug setup?

Are you still planning any aero mods? You should be trapping in the mid 160's I would think with these new round of changes. Just curious what you are going to be doing.

Justin

Justin,
I'll be running Weld Prostars and tire size is yet TBD, My choices are somewhat limited, as I'll be in the 26-27 inch tall diameter, but I'll be able to run a 15" rim, giving me a little more sidewall.
As far as aero mods ... I have a couple of things I am considering front/rear spoilers and VG's, but it has been really stable to this point on the current setup. I'll have to wait to see how it is at 160+.
Mike

Wait, So I guess I missed this from before. You ran 8.9's on ET Streets?? That is really impressive. Are you going to stick to DOT tires?

Maybe a 275/50-15 radial. (I've read that the MT radial stick as well as the ET Streets)

I've been eyeing the Hoosier 27X11.5X15 QTP DOT.

Yep, I run the DOT tires, as I drive the car 20 minutes to the track and back home and don't feel like carrying a jack, other wheels/tires, etc. I will continue with the DOT tires. I just bought a set of 4 Prostars from a Mustang guy and the rears have M/T ET Street 28x12.5x15 (probably too big and I'll probably end up selling them, but I'll trial fit them since they are coming with the wheels.
I've run the M/T drag radials, and the best I could do with them was a 1.48 60'. I went to the ET Street and was able to get into the mid to high 1.3xx 60'.

I like the 27x11.5x15 QTP's, I am going to see how the 28's fit (as I suspect they won't, but it will give me some idea of how the 27's would fit. I already know the 26x11.5's fit.

JNJ - I'll see you guys there regardless

RedEvilrps13 - 1" drop on the springs

Dr Hunt - hope to see you all soon as well

BRAAP - As for perfoprmance gains, I really haven't a number in mind, but am just looking forward to comparing the performance to the 76mm that I took off.I figure I was making just under 800 rwhp with the 76mm at 30 lbs of boost with the 100 shot of nitrous. I will gradually work my way toward 40 lbs of boost and run a 150 shot of nitrous before all is said and done, as I locate the next weak link

Thanks all for the kind words and hopefully I'll have some results to go with the photos soon.

Dont believe that unless you have a really sophisticated boost controller with ramp and lots of track time to dial it in. With your power goals, nothing less than a 315 or 325 DR will work.

I ran the 27x11.5x15 QTPs on the GNZ. 4800 on the T-brake with the GN engine netted me 1.36 and no trace of wheelspin. I just installed 26x11.5x15 QTPs on 15x9s. Hope to test this Sunday.
