  1. Truth of the matter is, I installed an internally regulated alternator off of an 83' l28et onto my 75'280 with no idea I now had two voltage regulators in the system...until, I fired up the car and the amp meter went haywire. This led me to research the following links: http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/voltreg.htm I matched the yellow and white/blue stripe as instructed as the voltage regulator harness matched the info provided, but after realizing the system wasn't charging, I searched further: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/108455-75-280z-alternator-upgrade-to-zx/ http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html All three agree that the white/red and the white/black are joined. Two out of three state the yellow and white wire should in fact be joined. So I did. Still not producing 14.4 volts. To make matters worse, my digital meter was lying to me saying it was overcharging, until the battery died minutes later. After installing a new 9 volt, it actually showed 10.5v proving it wasn't charging at all. Even after giving some rpm still no change. Neither combination seem to yeild a positive result which leads me to believe that either I've damaged the internal regulator or it didn't work to begin with...I'm leaning towards the latter. Times are tough in Alberta right now, blew my budget on a pallnet fuel rail and arp head studs for the l28et. I'd like to use this alternator for the time being until i can afford a larger amp version. Can I solder the original voltage regulator back in the system, or any other low budget option would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jason
  2. I'm looking for an ECU and paired harness for an '83 L28et, it is my understanding that any of the years are compatible as long as they have the harness from that year as well. I have the 5spd but I believe the auto ecm works as well. Any advice on where to find one for relatively cheap would be welcome as well. thx!
  3. I have 4 wiring harnesses for L28 engines. they are in various states of condition but on the whole look complete. I've included pictures, there are other engine related things included as well like a coil, a ballast of some sort. to be honest, my car didn't have a motor in it some I'm not 100% one their function. I'm thinking $50 each, but shoot me offers. I'm looking for interior parts for my 77 280z. like the tail light interior cover, black carpet kit, and other such nonsense.

  5. Hey guys, Let me give you a quick run down of whats going on here, please read the entire post before asking questions. I have a 76 280 that had a stock l28 in it and I was planning on doing an RB25 swap. My plans were a little too ambitious for my pocketbooks with still being in school and trying to purchase a house. It is time for me to cut my losses with the RB and go with something I am more comfortable/familiar with, not to mention less expensive. Almost every part is new and unused except where listed. Everything is located in Bernville PA. Prices are OBO. Some may be negotiable, I'm just trying to get back some of the money that I have into the swap currently. As far as getting pictures for each item is concerned I have found in the past that it is easier for me to email or text pictures of the items rather than posting them here due to my poor internet service for my laptop at home. So if anyone would like any pictures feel free to PM or email me cschlegel76 @ yahoo.com (no spaces please, I just did that so there is no hyperlink) or text me @ six one zero five six eight six eight zero two: 1.
