  4. I have a Swiss cheesed 1979 280zx Naturally Aspirated 5 speed built in 1/79 VIN is HS130130682 and the odometer says 83686. The tabs expired in 2013 and the owner says it ran when he parked it (about 3 years), I'm currently attempting to get the engine running, its not seized and its got spark I'll be attempting to get it a good fuel source in the next few days. I'm pulling anything with value off the car please post here if you want to buy something or want me to pull/check the condition of a part I can take pictures of them. None of the body panels are usable. I personalty have no experience with 280zx's (I got a 240z). So I have no clue what the value of some of these parts are, make me an offer. If the rear end is a R200 when I end up pulling it I'm keeping it, if it ends up being a R180 its for sale. 5. sr20det engine in a 280z?

Hello! I am interested in switching out a stock 280z's engine for a nissan sr20det. i have heard that this is not a very easy swap, and i was wondering what i would need to do it. the 280z is currently stock. thanks for any replies!
  6. Valuable 280zx Parts?

This post got moved but I had already made one in parts for sale. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/124521-1979-280zx-l28e-5-speed-misc-parts/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, was hoping someone might be able to help me. I need some advice, on a 280zx I recently aquired. The body is in really bad shape and the guy just wanted it hauled off. My question is what parts on this thing are worth pulling off before I send it to the scrap yard? I know the R200's are sought after, not sure if it has one or not, I havn't gotten it back to my place yet. If it has the r180 is it even worth pulling? What other parts should I be looking for? Are there interrior parts that are hard to find? Is the engine and trans worth pulling? I know emblems sometimes have value if they are in good shape, are the 280zx embelems worth anything? I just don't want to toss somthing that might be needed by someone. I feel bad even sending this thing to get scrapped, but I dont want to keep it.
  7. 260z Drivetrain and Other Parts

I am in the process of a swap and looking to clear up some garage space. I have an early '74 260z with a bunch of parts that will be going up for sale over the next month. The motor ran strong before I started disassembling the car and has ~65k original miles on it. I have a video of it running for interested buyers. I am not the original owner and as far as I know it is stock except for the 4-barrel carb setup and longtube headers. Has a new starter and alternator and includes all the accessories since I can't use them in my swap. The auto trans is in good condition as well as the diff (R180). Car is located in Frederick, MD and I prefer not to ship big parts.Make me an offer on these parts individually or as a package. I also have the original fuel tank for sale, $100/obo and original seats that need to be recovered, $100/obo? I will be parting more stuff out as I continue to disassemble but if you need something in particular just shoot me message and if its coming off the car I can prioritize and get it off for you. *Edit* Also have a clean, bare L28 block, n45 head, crank, rods and pistons. Sean

  9. Charlotte NC swap meet April 3-6

Every year my father and I go to this massive swap meet held at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte North Carolina. Let me be the first to say that this place is RIDICULOUS. Any fancy could be tickled there as the entire track is covered in cars and a large majority of the infield too. Then any spot that isn't occupied by a car are venders selling God only knows what. I mean I've seen it all from Lamborghini parts to props from airplanes. I can't necessarily guarantee a large turnout for Z cars but I am almost positive there should be a few there. Here's the link to it and if you're are nearby or just have a weekend to kill I would recommend going for sure! www.charlotte-autofair.com/
  10. I'm looking for the flat metal plate that bolts to the distributor and the aluminum spacer. I think thats the best way to describe it. I'm attaching a picture. I live in the Tulsa, OK area. If you are close I'll come pick it up. Chris
  11. Hello, recently i just recently purchased a used set of weber 40 dcoe. But basically i am missing a few parts such as the three eye joints that screw on to the manifold, and one butterfly and throttle shaft. What had happened was i bought the set of webers that had the three pieces of linkage missing so i new i was going to need those. But me being an idiot i was disassembling the first carb without penetrating fluid so i stripped the heads of the screws that hold the butterfly and the throttle shaft in place and i had to drill out the holes. But the throttle shaft needed to be replaced anyways since one of the ends threads were stripped. So basically i need one throttle shaft, one butterfly, and three of the eye joints that screw in to the manifold. The carbs seem to be fairly old italian weber Dcoe 18 No. 9E ,with a cannon manifold. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  12. I thought I'd drop this in Non Tech rather than the Misc Tech forum since it's not actually Z related. I know some of you guys here are pretty clued up on tech sources and some even work in shops and repair places that may well have the catalogues on hand so I thought it might be worth a try asking on here. One of my friends here in China works for a parts supply company in Chongqing and needs the steering and suspension calalogues for TRW and Delphi, but can't find them. I did some Googling as well and she now has the 555 catalogue and a few others, but still looking for the TRW and Delphi ones. Anyone here know where to get the catalogues? Have already tried Emailing TRW and Delphi direct with no reply. Her company is a parts wholesale supply import/export one, and is looking to expand from supplying chinese parts to more import parts with the rapid increase of foreign built or designed cars now on the roads in China, which means they need to know what parts there are from which manufacturors.Hence wanting the catalogues, Tracy has been assigned the task of collecting them.
