nash542001 Posted August 3, 2011 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Different distributors, L28ET has crank angle sensor and wheel. Oil cooler on auto L28ETs not sure on manuals. dexter72 Posted August 3, 2011 Share Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) If your just looking at the block with a head on it and no manifold. Turbo block has a knock sensor port at the 4th cylinder. I can't inspect the motor in person (to look for the turbo) so that's why I'm asking for visual differences. Here is the engine in question. Zoom in on the downpipe area and play image enhancement games with Brightness and contrast.... and yes, that dang "bush" is strategically placed to hide the two details that matter, the dizzy and the j-pipe.... (hose to the j-pipe connects to that tube that's open in the middle of the intake - we should see part of the j-pipe under that tube) It's definately missing. I think you should be able to see at least part of the turbo (part of the wastegate actuator or arm maybe) - the turbo may also be gone... If you look at the intake it has the manifold over-pressure valve in front of the EGR and a manifold pressure transducer(for the boost gauge) on the driver's inner fender.
