Hello everybody my name is Felix and Im in the middle of a 1jzgte swap into my 77z as the title states. I really want to stick with the stock gauge cluster and I have already got the oil pressure and water temp gauges working but Im having trouble getting the tach to operate. I tried searching and can't find any concrete answers that I haven't tried already.

Here are some pics of the car the day I started it up and took it around the block.

The hood isn't on because I'm waiting on a 90 degree fitting for the oil line so I'm riding around getting the bugs out of it like this.

The reason the Tacho won't operate is because you have a tach that is designed for a single coil input, but you are using a coil on plug type ignition system with multiple coils. You will need a Tach adapter from MSD or Dakota Digital(I prefer this one). Wire it in, adjust as needed and you will have a working tach

Thank you for the response, I've tried the msd tach adapter because I had one lying around the shop but the dakota digital unit you referenced looks promising. I've got the car running about 17psi now and making 440whp but I would still like to get all these small loose ends tied up.
