The front end (planning on running a Type-1 Air dam) really doesn't lend itself to extra lighting unless you want to fill up the brake air ducts (which I don't). The other day however, I saw a very promising, readily available possibility! The old rental car standby, the Saturn ION. Factory 240Z front indicators: Factory (2005) Saturn ION fog lights: I plan on running headlights with integrated turn signals, so I've got that covered and have the space now for these... Problem is, I've got a 280z so I don't have any 240z lenses to use for comparison! Might have to shop for some ratty 240z units... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've got a line on some cracked 240z blinkers to use as mock up pieces; As soon as I've got them in hand I intend to start scouring the local junk yards. At this point I'm only looking locally so I can physically compare the two to verify it's even close enough to pursue. They are cheap enough new that I will probably go with new ones once I've confirmed they are close enough. I've even got some left over clear yellow film I used on my STi fog lights that I may use on them; got to let my inner ricer out sometimes! I don't remember the exact price, but they were close to the Amazon price. Unfortunately, I still haven't had a chance to get ahold of any Z lenses to compare to, and everything I do have (Airdam, stock valence, etc) is 280 stock so they aren't exactly helpful when wanting to just lay them in to see how they fit. I'm on the lookout for a Kaminari airdam, which seems to lend itself rather well to this kind of thing. Even if the proportions are well off, I should be able to make them work just fine with a little cutting and grinding. Now I just need to find myself an airdam! I realize that's a bit high if what you truly need is fog lights. I don't see why you would need them in El Paso. You really don't get much fog there, do you? The point for me isn't to go the easiest, or even the most effective route but to thoroughly modernize the entire exterior of the car while maintaining a OEM level of fit and finish. Simply putting the fogs where the signals used to be just wouldn't cut it for me, especially considering that most fogs that would fit are cheap AutoZone specials. I'd be opting for some driving lights to extend my night vision farther out on those flat desert roads.The car will likely never be driven at night or in the fog (You're right in that we rarely have fog here), and will never be a daily driver; this is a weekend racer/cruiser/street hoon and occasional show car, so I'm not afraid to go crazy with it. I'll make concessions for aesthetics, so long as it's both functional and done in a way that won't hurt performance in any way other than the limited added weight. All in all, I'm doing it for looks. If someone follows suit because they actually drive in the fog then great, that's why I posted it up. My inner ricer even has some yellow film ready to go... Thanks for the reply. @ Lance I feel you on what you mean about the cheap fog lights or just making the front end look, look to busy or clustered with so many light display or flashy crap something that is a close fit and would have a multi function like those of the Saturn ion would be awesome. and adding something like led switchback bulbs would be awesome a full time fog light that would turn ember when turn signal turned on. and an added euro clear look without the price. pretty cheap too. and added lighting I think its a win overall and thank you lancevance for the news.
