I plan to make some custom mounting brackets and size some rotors accordingly but before I did so I wanted to see if any of you guys have used these particular calipers before. thezguy Posted September 25, 2014 Author Share Posted September 25, 2014 The 2B brembo's came off of the 993's I think. The audi guys use them on the S4's too. They are pretty big brakes. They are 4 piston. I wasn't sure if going with a large 4 piston was worth all the trouble I'll end up going through. G-E Posted September 25, 2014 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Post some pics, but if you are correct, they could be either the TT or NA calipers which are very different, they could also be rear calipers -- porsche used a lot of variations of 4-piston calipers. Also, measure the piston sizes, I suspect they will be rather small, probably something like 36-38mm, which means even a z32 caliper would have more clamping force... G-E Posted October 6, 2014 Share Posted October 6, 2014 The clamping ability will be better than the S12+8, not as good as the S12W... from the information I've seen. This of course ignores thickness and weight, the toyota calipers are monstrously heavy... The brembo should also be able to take either 30 or 32mm thick rotors, assuming you can make some work, or go custom, the rotor thickness will be fairly critical to use these calipers. Custom is not an issue but the more I think about it the more it seems like a waste to customize a mounting bracket unless I move to a 6 piston design.
