Clarification of diff pinion flange dimensions

Help! I need some diff pinion flange dimension clarification!

I recently ordered a custom aluminum heavy duty driveshaft from a reputable vendor, but it doesn't fit. I have a early 260z with a r200 3.9 diff. When I installed the diff, it did not come with a pinion flange. So I installed a pinion flange (the square one) from a 280z.

My current pinion flange has the same dimension as pictured in the left. My replacement driveshaft has the dimension as the one pictured in the center.

So, what is the diff pictured in the center from?

Thanks!

Those were found on 75 280z's specifically.  Since your car was a 74 260z, the drive shaft shop probably guessed you had that bolt pattern.

I had a different situation where I swapped differentials, and found out the hard way that the flange in my 75 was different from other years.

So you have 2 choices:

-Swap the flange off your diff to match the new driveshaft

-or Swap the flange off the driveshaft to match your diff
