my F54 is bored to 90 mm , stock rods but much work on them, no problem for a NA engine , megasquirt injection and timing

Did you sonic test It?

Hopefully working on my stroker soon and trying to make some decisions. I was going to go for 89mm.

89 mm with F54 would be rather safe , but not with P30 or other blocks

my P30 from l26 was in the water at 89 mm , sleeves to come

i did not sonic test my f54, i think for NA it's enough

Besides head gasket being a little pricey and a sonic test is recommended , is there any other issues/risks/costs?

Obviously custom pistons are needed.

the cheaper is to build your own  multi layer copper head gasket , what i did , removable and no leak if well done .

custom pistons ? after market pistons exist , some times need over boring the rod at the pin
