I was also a little surprised about a few things but fortunately rust was not one of them. Great report and the videos are awesome. I shoot underwater video so I know you put a lot of time and effort into editing these. Keep up the good work on the car, looks like you'll have a sweet ride when you're done. Looks like it cost you alot to get all that rust work done. Take in mind my z has a totally shot engine that needs replacing. Where or where can my l28e be heh. Would be fantastic if someone would be a champ and give me an old l28e from a 350 swap or something. Anyways back on topic. I see you are removing the side marker lights. I personally like them and will be keeping them. I plan to wire mine to where they will blink aswell as the back ones while turning. Also take in mind my turn signals are broken. Your z will probally be the closest thing to a new z as we can get. To bad your not doing restoration. besides the rb what else do you plan on having. I might go for a stock restoration in 40 years when I'm 64 ... I'll get a new harness wired up' date=' interior lights will be bright white LED's and the taillights too (Red LED's though [and some white']). Headlights will most likely be somekind of HID/Xenon ... Autometer gauges, fuel cell, carbon dash/hood/roof, etc and so on. It's an ongoing project. I'm jealous.[/quote'] Haha, I know - shame on me A Z-pal of mine shaved his rails and then water seeping though became an issue. I'm not really that bothered by the drip rails. Not yet anyway, so I'll keep them for a while I just saw videos 13 and 14... if you make a dvd i will buy it!!!! If I would make a DVD it wouldn't have the same music as the online videos. Don't want to step too hard on the toes of copyright. And if I can't have the music, chances are pretty slim that there'll be a DVD ... Now on to the car, the work you and your team have done is outstanding to say the least and its showing more and more in every video. I cant wait to see the car of yours start to come back together. That will be the best of all, and someone said they wanted a cd, well copy the vids and make your own for your private viewing I to love the videos they are classic!! It really sucks that we sometimes end up dealing with shady people. I didn't realize the serious rust issues you were dealing with until I saw it on the videos. The most inspiring thing is that you are taking a bucket full of rotten apples and making apple pie. Awesome work so far on the car and the vidoes. Keep the updates and videos coming. Your sense of humor is great and the editing and effects are really enjoyable! As I was watching all the work, I was really inspired that you have such great guys working on the car at SCE. They are incredible! Oh, for a newbie body solder guy, you look pretty godd at it!. Thanks for documenting everything! I'll hit the mull.tk site and look at some more pics, etc, even though I can't read the language. Watching the vids and seeing all that rust really brought back memories. I had to replace just about all the stuff you guys did, save for one or two little places. What memories! I'm glad it's over now! I especially like how you would cut some, and then decide to cut a bunch more and just replace large areas wholesale. Brings back memories! R[/quote'] You got a mail from The Pete Brock? Whoa... That's way above the top of any anticipations. Wicked! Thanks for quoting the mail! Any updates?? Not lately. Been kind of busy doing other things - like documenting the Swedish Miss Hawaiian Tropic finals That, along with one of my sponsors DVD-project, and I was told by someone that I would get trouble in the future because of the left over solder prep-flux-thingy that most likely is hiding in some of the creases/welds. And, a rasp/grinder tore up a small hole that needs to be welded. So - the plan right now is to remove all the solder. Grind out all the welds so they're smooth as a babys butt. The hole that the rasp tore up will be welded as well as any holes appearing when grinding the welds. I don't want to take any chances since the prep-flux-whatever rusts like all hell if it's not removed. That I know now But then again, I told you - I'm a total newbie So, remember kids - always get rid of ALL the fluxie-thing after you torch it. And be sure to grind the welds down so that the left over fluxfluxflux has no place to hide. I'll re-apply solder after smoothing out the surface. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the PPG epoxy primer and having the car sprayed so I can start applying bondo/filler/caulk.
