Pardon my ignorance, but did any of the early z cars have power steering?, and if so what do I need to get to convert my 74 ?

Zdr. in Roanoke, Va. did convert a car to power steering using an RX7 steering rack and pump and it was a big pain to get engineered properly. Doc told me he would never do it again, based on the complexity, cost, and time.

Good Luck!

thanks guys, I kinda like the "go cart" feel of the standard steering, but after all the heart surgery, my chest and ribs really like the power stuff. but I dont think I want to go to that much trouble either.

I can understand wanting to have power steering for medical reasons... but for any other reason I have to wonder why you'd want it at all! In my books nothing beats the response and feel for the car that you can get only with non power assisted steering. When McLaren cars made the F1, they refused to put in power steering for the very same reason!
