    1972 Datsun 240z

I bought the car from an old women whom had her husband passed away and she wanted to sell the car. I bought the car for $700 the car was running but needed a lot of TLC (interior/exterior/engine)
  2. i bught them for $20...is that a rip off OR it's a good deal
  3. I've been searching around through lots of manufacture companies, and they don't have any clear distributor cap. from the look of the box i think they're in the mid 80s
  4. I just bought a clear distributor cap i was told that this is one of the rarest distributor cap available? He told me that it's from the Datsun dealer back in the day. Does anyone have any info on the distributor cap?
  5. I do have a 72 but I felt in love with the series 1, anyway here are some more run down of what i did so far.
  6. It took us a week to over haul the engine, and now we're starting on the the body work cutting out all the rust spots, treated, than apply POR15 over.
  7. After pushing the car in the garage, I was able to take a lot more pics of the car. Now I can see the car in a brighter environment. Immediately start to work on the car, spaying W40 to ease off some rust off.
  8. Oh after a long hesitation about whether or not i should rescue the car I went a head purchase the car, his asking price is $1700 but after a long talk with him I was able to walk away with the car for $1200. On the way hauling it home we stop to get some food, immediately we saw there was a fire in the drive side brake caliber (the whole brake caliber turned red) we were like great now we have to call a tow truck :/ luckily after cooling it down with 4 bottles of water we got the fire to stop and able to free the wheel. so we continue on our journey, it's home safely... or not we realized the caliber is on fire again sigh.... so we got the hose to put out the fire.
  9. thank you so much for the advice, i live in Milpitas, California. i was thinking if rust spot like that i can get fenders and doors from other Z cars from 70-77? i've double check the only rust problem is the exterior panels, no frame damage, it does have factory A/C, E31 cylinder head, everything is original including the spare tire hahaha. With this all been said do you guys still think the car worth it? thanks
  10. i live in Califonia and it's very interesting that CA has this car this rusted out >
  11. I just came across a 1970 240z that a friend of mine have for sale, even though it has a pretty low vin # 6235. There are lots of rust under the doglegs (both sides), doors, near the gas door, rear hatch, battery tray. He's asking for $1700 for the car. I was thinking is this too much $ for the car in current condition? Please give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate thanks.
  12. yeah sorry i don't remember what thread it was cause i save these pics at some point, my car wasn't running back than but now it runs really good, and I want to take it to the next level. the GM Indigo Blue Metallic looks pretty close to it but if we can get the color code that would be great. thanks
