  1. Hello all, After trying to remove some of the rigged up wires on my 240, I decided to say the heck with it and completly rewire the car. My question is how exactly does the high beam switch work? I put an OHM meter to the 3 connections on the switch and I'm confused. In one position, there is continuity between the red-white and black, and in the other position the continuity switches to the red-yellow and black. I've tried using the wiring diagram but still can't figure it out. I assume the black is a ground for the switch? My thinking is that when the switch was closed, power would flow from the red-white to the red-yellow. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hello all, It's been a while but I'm back on the wagon of getting my V8 Z running! Surprisingly, my wife wants me to get the Z running! Just wanted to let you guys know I'm gonna need a lot of info and I'm glad there is a place like this. I'll be sure to use the search option but please don't think I'm an idiot if I ask a question with an obvious answer. Hopefully I can post some pics and you guys can tell me what you think. P.S. I tried posting on the announcements section but it wouldn't let me. Hope I'm not out of line.
  3. I'm a newbie here but I saw this thread and had to respond. I've been working with this guy for 4 1/2 years and he acts the same way when something doesn't go his way (he's 31). He sits in the cubicle behind me and all I hear all day is his whining and complaining. I've tried just ignoring him but I've got to the point where I play mind games with him just to here him whine . For instance, he is always telling everyone about how much education he has and that he can leave this company when ever he wants. So about 4 months ago, I got on his computer and slowed his mouse speed down to the point where you have to use half your desk just to move pointer to the bottom of the screen. This was 4 months ago and I can still hear him picking up his mouse, moving it across his desk and picking it up again. Just goes to show that no matter how much education someone has, they can still be a complete idiot.
  4. It's been some time since I decided to do a 350 swap on my '73 240. The car has been in my garage since '99. I was all ready to start building last year but apparently when you get married your funds rapidly depleat . I've finally pulled the engine and I can start doing the little things (free) to get it ready. I'm so glad there is a site like this to gather info. I've read up on almost everything I can think of on this site to make sure my swap goes as well as it can. Everyone on here seems to be so helpful and I would like to say thank you and I hope I can lend some useful advice in return. Here's some pics if your interested! http://www.cruez.com/gallery/index.php?cat=10032
  5. Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted but I'm finally starting on my 73 sbc Z after about 6 years. I've been looking at parts to buy and just wanted some opinions. I have a SBC 350 with 4-bolt mains and a cast crank. Parts I'm looking at: Eagle SIR I-Beam 5.7 Connecting Rods Connecting Rod Material: Forged 5140 steel Keith Black Hypereutectic Pistons Bore (in): 4.030 Piston Style: Dish Compression Distance (in): 1.561 Dish Volume (cc): 18.00 Valve Reliefs: Two Wrist Pin Style: Floating I've tried some compression ratio calcs. and get a ratio of 9.05 Vortech Heads. Does this sound about right. What's a good ratio? Any help will be greatly appreciated
