  1. 1977 280z - I hooked mine up today....'91 civic motor. I worked fine at a bench test. I'll install with the linkage tomorrow. However, I noticed that the intermittent relay cycled in all modes. I could hear it click in slow and fast modes. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks, CB
  2. Try using the thinnest wire in you MIG. I switched to 0.023 and it greatly reduced how much I burned through.
  3. great write up for installing and tuning 40dcoe carbs http://datsunzgarage.com/weber/
  4. You definately have some challenges ahead of you. Keep in mind, there is usually twice as much hidden rust as what you can see. You will be a rust repair expert when you finish this project. Be sure to check for leaks in the cowl area. This is a known trouble area and causes most casees of rusted floor panels. The front seam in the cowl area usually didn't get properly sealed at the factory.
  5. Just search for oil catch can on ebay. There are many to choose from.
  6. As long as you keep the cam towers in order and torque them down with the cam in place, you'll be fine. I even made my own 0.080" cam tower shims (0.080" aircraft grade aluminum) and replaced and torqued them with no issues. By the way, the shims were to maintain cam timing after removing 0.005" from the top and 0.075" from the bottom of the head.
  7. Something in your last post caught my eye. You mentioned a plastic bushing. I just finished rebuilding the linkage from my '77....basically a clean, paint and lube job. Mine has all metal parts with broze spherical a bearing/bushings and felt washers at the pivot points. Could it be that your linkage has already been replaced with a later model honda linkage (which has plastic bushings)? If so, you may be able to find decent parts at your local up-pull-it yard. good luck
  8. The drive shaft u-joints cannot be replaced. However, the half shaft u-joints (between the differential and rear wheels) are. The ones your cousin bought from NAPA are probably for the half shafts. You will need to replace the drive shaft or try contacting a company who builds custom drive shafts to see if they have any suggestions.
