  1. Does this mean that I have the improved crankshaft that with the oiling design flaw corrected?
  2. Is this an R32 or R33...this is exactly what my r32 looks like
  3. I have an R32 Rb26, I see the location where the people claim the pre-drilled hole is supposed to be. I have looked on the inside scratched the outside with a screwdriver and can't find a brass plug, it appears un-drilled. Can someone confirm that this is sometimes the case, or tell me that I am crazy and that it is drilled and plugged.
  4. Are there mounting locations for these braces on the RB26?
  5. This doesn't seem like the ideal solution, leaving 4 of the 8 bolts out. Shouldn't their be some sort of braket that goes form the bottom/sides of the block to connect to the trans? Does anyone know how the trans connects to an rb25?
  6. I have everything but the trans. Brakes, axles suspension, sub frame, etc
  7. I ordered and recieved the RB20 rear sump oil pan and pick up, but I have a couple issues. Firstly the bolts that hold the pan to the block are much larger on the original pan. I can deal with this. Secondly the oil pickup mounts to the engine in the very frony of the motor since the original is a front sump. The new pan is rear sump, how do you make this work since you would need a very long pickup tube. Lastly the transmission (rb25gts) is setup to mount to the motor with 8 bolts. With the original pan 4 go into the block and the other 4 go into the pan. What do you connect the bottom 4 bolts on the transmission to? Thanks for your help.
  8. is this neccessary on an r32 rb26? I have searched and there are a few posts but I couldn't find any in depth discusions of the pros and cons. I am planning on 400-450hp.
  9. Obviously this wouldn't be on public roads, what is your setup and how stable was your car at this speed?
  10. I used the advanced search feature....posting a thread and it comes back with responses ; ) sorry
  11. I am swapping an RB26 with the RB25 trans into my 72 240. I am using the q45 diff and have the complete driveline for this. I am trying to figure out where to get the yoke for the front of the driveline to go into the trans. I don't have the one that goes with the trans. Are there any US cars that use the same spline count/configuration?
  12. Just to verify is the gear ratio in the Q45 R200 always 3.54?
  13. I had a 2002 M3 and the motor in the car is hands down the best all around engine I have ever seen. It has a decent bottom end, just begs to be revved, and is butter all the way to the redline and beyond.I have heard that the 333hp number is low and that it is reputed to be closer to 360. Like others have mentioned it is very pricey. In addition their were some design flaws with the motor. My engine had to be replaced at 20k miles.
  14. I am on the opposite side of this thing from most of you guys. I had a Z in high school and college. I then went out into the working world and onto new cars. I have had a 1997 Prelude, a 2002 BMW M3, and now have a 2006 M45 as my daily driver. I just recently purchased a 72 240 as a project car. Maybe all of you are too close. It's like when you meet a girl, you love all those quirky little things about her. As time goes on all these same things start to annoy you. But when she is gone you miss her. The 240z is a fantastic car. It's design is timeless and even now doesn't look dated. It is the forebearer of all Japanese sports cars in America. Now that it is more than 30 years old, I think the value is only going to go up, like the 60's Muscle cars already have. Maybe it is the distance of time that is tainting my memory. But I loved my first Z and I am sure that I will love this one. There is something pure and simple about the experience of driving and owning a Z. For me it is not a compromise, I could afford to buy just about any (within reason) car I wanted. I wanted a Z.
  15. When I as in high school I got my stock 280z up to 135MPH on a long, narrow, bumpy back road. Absolutely scared the crap out of me. Car was bouncing all over the place
