  2. here is what we got: L28ET with a holset hy351 turbocharger, I have welded the internal wastegate shut, re-clocked the turbo to the direction I want and instead of welding on the cast exhaust mani for the external wastegate, I am going to use a spacer (t3 to t3 adapter) With the size of the turbo charger, this means I will have to re-clock it again because the spacer will bring it out about 3-4inches. this also means I will might have to cut a little into the fender well and then make a bubble type sheild to close the hole so junk wont fly into the engine bay. I also havent made my DP yet, but it should be easier to make now that the position of the turbo will be over a little bit. the only problem i forsee might be that I already have a custom braided line going from the temperature sending unit to the top of the turbo and I will have to get one made now for the oil pan Anyone done the external spacer with the holset turbo yet? I searched, but it seems most people just weld on the stock mani.

I did a search, but didnt find the answer. and I didnt know if the hy35 and the HE351CW were the same, some people said use the t3 oulet flange, its alot bigger than the one from the stock piece, I can take a picture comparison if i need too. What do I need to get in order to route the oil back to the pan with the rubber hose? This is the only thing holding me back....

You just saved me alot of money, I was winning the bid on ebay, but someone just outbid me, thanks again dude, would you PM me a good alternative? its a weekend car, but I once i get it running, its a possible DD. so which turbo would you go with that will bolt up to the stock mani? I know t3/t4 and the holset ones bolt up. but I need to get one cuz my mani is out of the car and I might as well get one before I build my DP. Im looking for anywhere from 275hp to 350hp, but I know that depends on the other stuff I run as well. Thanks again soo much! I just saw that your running a Hy35w, so Im guessing thats a good option, happy with it?
  7. I just found out that it doesnt come with the tranny, but more importantly that he claims he doesnt know the milage on the motor. so im feeling less inclined on it
  8. So, i was hunting in craigslist, as i normally do, looking for stuff for my L28ET swap that im halfway in, when I came across a RB20DET for $600. so...That is an insane deal correct? I was thinking of buying it. I know the larger motors are the better choice for the swap, but I can always just save it until I find the right car (another z, or maybe a 510. or heck, my DD is a scion xb and would be a cool option toyota ppl will hate me but i dont care.)
  9. I bought a strut bar from him and I was happy with his work, yes i know it was not FG, but if he produces this kind of product you will be happy with it, i say go for it dude! He is good with the social skills too

  11. yeah, i found this off of some of 280zforce's pics of his friends cars. Like i said, the scoops would be closer to the top of the hood instead of the middle, nearest to the window. Do you think its worth the effort? or will it look stupid?
  12. what do you think of this idea? i was going to take 2 of the sharp hood scoops off a ZX and mold them into my 240z hood. kinda like this car, but there will be one on each side and further to up the hood.
  13. I just bought a 83zxt in SC. I plan on swapping it into my 73 240z. The guy i bought it from said he replaced the fuel pump (said it was $300+) when I looked it was outside the tank and was leaking fuel. (this was after the problem listed below) I got it started after changing out the old gas and filled it up with 97octane and began the drive home. It started backfire and it ran worse and worse as I went down the highway. Boost levels looked fine, but then it was shooting flames out the back and caught my bumper on fire! With the leak of fuel i didnt know about it would have made a nice bomb !!! Its in my driveway now, and I want to get it running right before I begin the swap. so what should I take a closer look at other than the fuel pump? btw..all I know is what im learning by working on this car, i dont know much. my friend says it could be the catalytic converter that made it run worse.
  14. Im not mechanically inclined, so Im learning from my dad and He just switched out my carbs. They ran good for about 10 minutes. I took the car to get gas and on the way home it ran worse. Its sounded like it was cutting out. I got it home, but now when I start it, it cuts out quick. I dont really know much like I said, but my dad rigged up the vaccum tube because the fitting from the webers was rigged before and he used silicone to make it work. Im worried that that is the problem and it might have opened up on the way home. any ideas what It could be, or is that the problem?
  15. I have those crappy DGV carbs and about 3 or 4 people tell me to stop trying with them and get SU's or go fuel injected. So what do all of you guys think? I have already payed a guy that works on only z cars to rebuild the DGV's, but he will rebuild SU's if I get them. If SU's :Would it be worth the money to go with Ztherapy SU's or get some off ebay and have the guy rebuild them for me? If FI: what's a good setup?
