  1. Getting it back together is where I struggled. But using some duct tape, it helped to hold the spring in place while you fiddle around trying to hook it back up. I used a pic tool and a screwdriver to get it in place. Once the pic is in the hole where the red arrow is, close the mirror tight, pull the pic and the hook will fall into place. The offset screwdriver is the best tool to remove the mirror screws. If you wrap the handle with tape, it will not scratch the housing while making those half turns to get those little suckers out and back in.
  2. Link: http://www2.zhome.com:81/ZCMnL/84HowTo/300ZXMirrorRepair1.html It is a bit tricky. I have done this about three times now so ask away if you have any questions or if you want to see more pics.
  3. My 85 came with them. This was the first year for them. http://www.az-zbum.com/information.differences.shtml#ttops
  4. Same here, I used High Temp engine paint. Street driving only and no issues here.
  5. The old clip should be fine so long as when you install the half shaft that it clicks in there nice. You will feel it lock in. Mine did not want to seat right, well, it felt like it anyway so that is why I replaced mine. Edit: Here is the part number: 38225-N3100
  6. My update. With a bit of a struggle I was able to remove them but they got a little bent in the process. Trying to dig up the part numbers for these little buggers. This is an 1985 Z31 NA diff. So far I can only find them for the 87T plus and those are LSDs. EDIT: They might be all the same since all Z31 halfshafts will fit the CLSD. Double Edit: All clips are the same
  7. The clips are supposed to come out with the half shaft. But in some cases they like to hang insdie the differential. I had an issue the halfshaft not locking in so that is why I am pulling the clips, put them on the halfshaft then slide them and hopefully they lock in tight.
  8. R200 from a Z31 NA What is the best way to remove the C-clips when they remain in the differential after pulling the half shaft? Tried with a long pair of needle nose but these things seem tricky. Is there a trick? Those buggers are in there. Thanks!
