  1. Thanks, Jmortensen. I'm hoping to get the car up in the air and the tranny out this weekend. I've never done any transmission work so this should be interesting. Talked to a local z guru and he said Series 1 transmissions are notorious for shifter problems and that is why they changed the design on later models.
  2. It's a stock drivetrain 71 240z. The last time I drove it the car kepting popping out of reverse but I got it out of the driveway by holding it into gear. Didn't have any other issues with 1st - 3rd on the test drive. It was missing so the next weekend I changed the plugs and when I went to back it out and now it is stuck in reverse. The shifter moves around but no rhyme/reason. Unscrewed the center console to see if this was something with the shifter but couldn't get it out. After some research it seems there are some hoses towards the front on both sides that need disconnecting first. Hoping to get it out this weekend. Was hoping someone here has had a similar problem so I know where to start. Thanks
  3. I was wondering what the wheel/tire specs are in the original posts pictures? Look like ccw's Nice ride
  4. Thank you, sir. That should come in handy That seems possible. Where'd you find that patch hose that's clamped in between there? I guess I need to cut out that house and measure the inner diameter. My only concern is that it's cracked really close to the T it runs into.
  5. The car is a 71 so I'm not sure if that junction piece should be there or not because it seems stock to me. I know the motor/tranny are original so I don't know why they'd replace that stuff. I guess because of the link you provided I should be looking for this piece under the dash?(http://www.datsunstore.com/heater-control-valve-7073-p-1173.html) Assuming that's there I need to find a replacement hose and take the dash out to run a new hose?
  6. I believe it's a hose going to my heater hose but it split and is now leaking antifreeze. I took a picture and was wondering the easiest way to patch this? I'm a bit cautious because I don't use my heater much now(south texas) but was hoping to one day have working a/c on this car. Also, it runs into the firewall so I'm not sure how to cap it if thats the best route to go. Sorry for being such a rookie and thanks for any help guys.
  7. I'm swapping out my dash soon and thought about upgrading my wiring. Specifically I found these products: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/12-4651 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/12-4652 I will hopefully sooner or later be doing some sort of motor swap but not sure which route yet. I don't know much about wiring but will these still be compatible with the new motors wiring harness? Are there any pros/cons I should know other than the ones listed? Also, any advice on someone with little experience trying to install these during a dash swap? Thanks guys!
