  1. Just had one of these units delivered and an oily fluid is spilling out of the inlet/outlet pipes when tipped over - is this normal ? No mention of this in the instructions but I guess that's why they have the red plugs fitted. If it is normal then do I need to empty it all out before connecting up ? Or do I need to get it replaced ?
  2. Thanks kcelectronics - great reply ! You cant beat experience and it prevents others from making the same mistakes and saves them time and money. Could you please give me the details of the tank mod's for the external pump. Sounds like the best and easiest option. Dave
  3. I want to install the standard rb25 fuel pump into a 240Z gas tank. Does anyone have any pics and information on the hole diameter required, best fixing method, standard/modified parts needed etc. Also, any information on installing the fuel filter(s). Can the standard 240Z fuel pipe diameters be used down the tunnel or do I need to uprate them to cope with the flows ? Thanks.
  4. Nice job qwik240z. The Arizonazcar car site is great- thanks for sending me the link Mario.
  5. Thanks Synthtk. Thought so as they look similar in size but just wanted to check. I think that the brake booster and cylinder should also be OK - in fact the 260Z cylinder looks a bit bigger than the Skyline one ! Amazing how little these units have changed over 30 years !
  6. Thanks for the responses guys - you've given me some ideas.
  7. Thanks Stony. Which intake manifold/thottle body are you using ?
  8. Great idea using the existing linkage rather than trying to run the cable all the way through to the pedal. Thanks for the pictures - much better than a description.
  9. I would appreciate it if some one could post some pictures here or send an email of how they connected the 260Z throttle pedal to the standard RB25DET cable assy. I presume it's pretty straight forward ?
  10. Posted this first in the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z forum but don't know how to move - apologies if I've messed things up but I'm a relative newbie. I'm doing the RB25DET in a 260Z conversion and wondered whether the Skyline brake servo will fit OK. I have an old 260Z servo but not sure how well it operates, also have a good Skyline servo with master cylinder. They are both approx. 7.5" diameter and the linkage lengths are approx. the same. Will need to change the bolt holes positions and widen out the bulkhead aperture but apart from that are there any other issues / reasons why I can't ? Has anyone tried this ? Also, any problems using the 260Z clutch master cylinder with the RB25DET slave unit ? Do I need to use the Skyline cylinder to make the standard clutch operate correctly ? Thanks guys.

  12. Thanks for the photo's. You couldn't get the stick lined up more central than that !
  13. Sorry to barge in but has anyone got photos of how they fabricated and fixed the mounts for a RB25DET gearbox in a 260Z ? Thanks guys.
  14. Following on from the previous posts. I'm looking for mounts to install an RB25DET into a 240Z and have seen three possible options - sets supplied by Shouri Motorsport, Arizona Z and McKinney Motorsports. Not too sure which one to go for - is one better than the other two or is there another one I haven't seen which is better still ? I notice that McKinney also supply the transmission mount which would make installation easier I guess. Your feedback would be appreciated as I want to order them soon. Thanks.
