  1. Congrats again on those numbers man! It was great seeing everyone sh*t their pants when you laid it down, and even cooler watching the kids at the street races drool in disbelief... Hit me up the next time you're racing or headed to KC!
  2. I thought that SCCA Class 'street modified ssm' would have been my most eligible class... Stating any engine may be used, and the weight seems to be right in my expected range. Not to steal someone else's ideas, but 74_5.0L_Z has to be one of my favorite platforms. I assumed that was a track car by the threads I've read
  3. Truthfully, I'm not sure where the name of this class came from. I obtained that info from a friend who is also building his Z for road racing. To my understanding, it must have meant GT-3... Basically a class above Production - which is assuming I'm eligible for such a class. I am assuming most track day events I'd like to participate in will be Production class. If a cell without bladder is acceptable for Production class, I may go that route. I have been trying to read through the entire 300+ page SCCA rule book, but haven't gotten close to completion. I was hoping you would reply to this John, as you seem to be the local expert on road racing, and it's something I've always wanted to get into. It should be around 400 - 425 whp
  4. Just trying to sort out my fuel system specs for this application. I'm hoping someone will have some feedback on what they do or don't like about various setups and why. The Car: 1970 240z EFI Ford 302 Setup should meet the demands of daily driving, and suitable to pass tech at up to class GTR3 I have been planning on the Aeromotive Stealth system, but the cell is not engineered to meet this class from my understanding. I like the reviews of their pumps and pump control unit, but wondering if anyone would care to suggest something else? I have looked at ATL and Fuel Safe cells, but if there's a way to save a buck or two that'd be awesome. Thanks in advance!
  5. I've become a fan of Stealth A1000 cell with pump controller, and was wondering if anyone has used this or is knowledgeable about which road race classes it's eligible for. I'm staying in production for what it's worth.
  6. Well it turns out I overlooked the part of the site that answered these questions. Doh! 280yz rears with subtle fronts it is. FYI John is a very nice guy, A+ customer service
  7. Just trying to get the configuration mapped out with a little more insight from this forum. I'm looking at wide options, and I'm torn between these 2. I'm trying to stuff the widest possible tire under the car, without going tube frame. Does anyone happen to know the approximate offset, wheel, and tire combos for either IMSA or Reaction Research? Thanks!
  8. I'd be happy to assist in this project - and use myself as the test subject. I'm currently installing a 1991 5.0 fuel injected with Trick Flow top end, and I'm making my own harness. I'd be happy to post the write up - when it's done and working of course. Engine install should be Jan 15-Feb 1 depending on how much longer the shell prep and cage install take me.
  9. Whats up guys, finally time for the last piece of the fitment problem - 1991 302, trick flow heads going into 1970 z Edit: Trick Flow twised wedge 170 heads - I've been told they don't require different headers as the GT40s do I am trying to buy the right headers which would ideally eliminate as much modification to them as possible. I have read about the speedways, and their needing to be notched and dimpled... I can go that route, and I like the price, but would prefer less mod reqs. Anyone used MAC or BBK?? Any suggestions on mods they'd need (or hopefully lack thereof but I think I'm dreaming) Thanks in advance
  10. I'm ready to buy a set ASAP and I live close to the seller. I'd be happy to come by with cash
  11. I've seen a thread here about custom s30 door panels with speaker pods, but something is wrong with this forum's search engine. I have tried numerous times to find it, but nothing. Anyone care to elaborate? Thanks
  12. Derr, yes I forgot to mention the hood vents. I wasn't trying to re-invent the wheel, so I stole this cage layout: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/106109-series-1-240z-roll-cage-build/#entry992661 Thanks again BTW Rob It'll basically just be for track days, but in case I decide later I'd like to take it up a notch I'll have the option. I don't know how I managed to miss that member. THANKS!
  13. Since I decided to build a rotisserie and go over the car with more detail than originally intended, I figured I'd see what other suggestions there may be for the shell. So far: 1. Seam welds 2. Roll Cage 3. New larger frame rails 4. Holes drilled into inner fenders - I've heard these cars have issues with the front end floating at higher speeds This is a road race car with a powerful 302, obviously needed stiffening which should be handled, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
  14. I wasn't able to download it for some reason, tried with pc and it worked. I started reading about a few differences between 70 and 72, and thought it'd just be something I'd like to have. Also, I thought it'd be an easily searchable thread to start. Also wouldn't mind having a hard copy.
