  1. Hi guys, My Name is Robin and i'm from The Netherlands I drive a white '75 260z 2+2 I have completely rebuild the car except the engine. Because of futureplans. For now the Original l26 engine is in and is het 53k Kilometers on it. In Miles i gues something between 25k and 30k. It has a Janspeed 6-2-1 header and a full freeflow 2,5 inch stainless steel exhaust. My distributor is from a '81 280zx and has the E12-8 module. It has been set on the original L26 advised degrees. The engine has had a complete tune up with new spark plugs etc. The carburators are 3screw Hitachi SU's from a 240z with a N42 intake, velocity stacks en open air filters. The carbs are synchronised and run well in low rpms. I need to choke to start and let the choke on for a few miles and then it runs fine. When the car is at worktemperature the engine will stutter as soon as i come aboven 3500- 4000 rpms and stops at 6000 rpm. At these high rpms you can feel the loss of power. I have tuned the carbs a dozen time and try a few adjustments to find out why it is running bad at high rpm's. What i've tried and discoverd: -The carbs have been adjusted very lean. the screws are almost completely turned in. But the car drives good at low rpms. -The mechanic fuel pump is still Original but gives good pressure at idle -Idle is around 900-1000 rpm -The vaccuum pipe on the left carb is blocked of. -One vaccuum pipe on the intake is blocked of and the other one is connected with the distributor -When tuning the carburators and lifting the needles up doesn't give difference on the left carburator. The engine has to raise and fall back to normal idle when the mixture is correct. leaner or richer doesn't make any differen when lifting the needle -the right carb has more or less the same. But i can hear difference on it but it is not very clear. I am thinking myself to replace the mechanial pump for a new one, same type although electric is better I want to rebuild both carbs and give them a good clean. I hope these discoveries could help you guys to think with me about what could be the problem. Please scream everything you think. maybe it will help others with argueing Thank you!
  2. Hi guys! I recently completed my 240sx rear brake upgrade with 300zx brake disc, 200sx s14a calipers and custom made brackets comparable to the of the Modern Motorsports upgrade kit. I am now ready to connect the e/brake cables with some plates with holes in it. Just like the brake kit. But i made a plate with a bolt patern of 60 millimetes but i found out the bolt patern isn´t correct. Is there somebody out here who has the Modern motorsports 240sx upgrade and could measure the size between the holes and provide this to me?. this would be very helpfull !! thank you robin
  3. Thank you guys! I fixed the problem. Thx to the pic i found out oje part was niet correct installed. I changed it and it was ok. After this i had to bend the door inside the heater bix because of the lenght of the cable. I now understand how it works and have made it work again without buying parts. Thank you!
  4. found i better picture from another site and it looks like this is an mechanical operating drawing. But i cant see it good enough what i am missing now. i guess it is something like part nr 26 to 32
  5. hi Davy, thank you for your answer. I you could, you would be really helpfull. I haven't figure this out yet but i have an idea of it. The only picture i could find is the one from the xenons30 manual. But this is for a vacuum controlled one. Which are found on airconditioned Z's. If you got one whithout aircon i would be pleased to see some pictures. Perhaps it is very easy to install the cable. thank you! Robin
  6. Hi Z enthusiasts I have rebuilded my venthousing, and upgraded it with a honda civic blower. I rebuilded the heater and heater panel as well. I tried to connect all the cabels from the heater panel to the valves en connectors but i cant understand how i have to connect the cable to the blower housing. I found a topic in which someone noticed there could be a vacuum problem. I haven't found any vacuum lines or valves on my heating unit except the hot water valve, but that works fine. Here is a picture of my rebuild vent housing. Could someone say what i am missing and what i need to make it work again. I have the original cable en clips to install but i gues i miss a vacuum part and some hose. Maybe someone has a picture of how it has to be installed or could tell me what i am missing and how ( if i collect the missing parts ) i install those parts. Thank you regards, robin
Groeten Robin
  8. I have a '75 2+2 260z. I guess it is a euro model It has a R200 open diff with final ratio: 3,7
  9. i havent bought the l28. Painted my l26 a bit and keep this stock until i have enough money for a rb25 swap. Thx guys
  10. Hi guys, i am kinda new to the performance section. I have read a lot but there is too much information and because everything is in english it is not easy to understand everything is told. I am from The Netherlands and i have a 1975 260z 2+2 with: -L26 Engine -e88 head -p30 block -Su carbureteurs with the right manifold i guess. -Janspeed exhaust manifold -I am going to make a 2 or 2,5 inch free flow exhaust. -5 speed manual transmission I can buy a 280zx engine with or without a automatic tranny for cheap money. Haven't asked yet which year 280zx, so i dont know the head and engine block. I think i want to install a rb25 engine in the car but for now ( maybe a year, meybe more ) i want to drive with the standard engine. But i was also thinking about building a stroke but i gues that is more expensive. So what are my options? I think i want to keep the carbs because these are better for performance then injection? What can i combine to get bigger compression or better performance without putting a lot of effort and money in the engine? regarding the l26 and l28 And will my 5 speed tranny of the l26 fit the 280zx engine? thank you guys
  11. This is mine before i completely removed everythinh off it and started rebuilding the car. It is still under construction and almost finished to be painted. I am now sanding it and apply filler to make it clean. latest pics: Hope you like it. This car is 1,17 meters high when finished
  12. i am sorry to say but a 260z 2+2 out of 1975 has a 3.7 diff I have had my diff opened and it was a 3.7 r200. It is a european car.
  13. Hi guys I have a sebuild set of 240sx calipers and a pair of non vented 300zx rotors. Now i want to buy the Modern Motorsports brackets but i cant get in touch with Ross or someone off that website. It there some kind of other solution to use these parts? or another supplier with those brackets? Please help because i already have those parts ready to be placed and already cut and removed my backdrum parts. ( i know it was stupid but i did it when i had the brackets. But unfortunately it were brackets for maxima calipers )
  14. Hi guys im looking for a pair of modern motorsports brackets for a 240sx rear disc caliper conversion. Who has some and would like to sell them to me? Thank regards robin
