  1. Hey guys, Thanks for the inputs! I'm still somewhat cautious about the whole thing, because, honestly, there are some things that dont add up. But he's promised to have it out within the next week, and that he'll keep me updated throughout the week. Jeffer: Yeah, no lie there man...sometimes things are out of our hands, and its totally understandable. I'm totally compassionate for people that "life" happens to, as we're all human, and we all have things that can turn our worlds upside down. I definately tried to handle it as maturely and direct as possible. No reason for going off the deep end when you dont know all the circumstances. Calgary: Yeah, you hit it there man. It is quite a bit of stuff, and about $1500 worth. That would have been a huge set back in terms of my car. In my eyes, Pay Pal is a great thing to have, cause they definately help people out. I had another issue with someone that I purchased something from, and never recieved it. So after a couple weeks of trying to contact that person, I disputed it. Same results pretty much...guy got ahold of me pretty much asap and shipped it to me. Welp, I better run...got alot ahead of me in the next couple of days. Gotta get packed up and outprocessed so I can be home on the 28th Thanks again, fellas! I appreciate all the support!
  2. Well, looks like he's come through..just got a message from him. Maybe I jumped the gun? Maybe not... We'll see how this pans out. I hope for the best, for both of our sakes And no, thats not a threat lol...just saying that these days, a little faith sometimes only goes a little ways...not like it was 10 years ago, especially on the internet...
  3. Its already past the deadline...unfortuantely being deployed doesn't allow you the greatest opportunity to use the phone for personal business. I went on the site and it said that I couldnt dispute due to the fact that it was past 45 days...
  4. Okay guys...I'm making this post in an attempt to hopefully bring an end to my current situation. I'm not going to mention any names (yet) as I dont want to be an ass, especially if its a legit situation. Though I do know he has come on the forum a few times since my last communique with him. So here it is....Back in may I purchased a motor setup from "Joe Blow" on here that included a Motor/tranny/driveshaft, FMIC, and Megasquirt, etc. It has been paid for in full. The last time I've heard from the guy was over a month ago. I'll be returning from the desert on Monday, and was hoping to have the motor waiting for me upon my arrival. But now it looks like I won't have neither the money nor the motor. So my request is this...does anyone have any advice as to which direction I should pursue? I've tried contacting the individual via email, PM's, and even used one of my weekly morale calls to leave a voicemail on his phone. A call that could have been used to call my friends or family back home. Still no response. I'm not trying to dog anyone, I'm just trying to get some kind of explaination/resolution. If there are some personal circumstances preventing communication, I would understand. But as it sits, I feel like I'm getting the shaft... Thanks guys...here's crossing my fingers... Jason
  5. Just figured I'd start this up. Right now I'm currently deployed to the desert, and have been stockpiling parts at my buddy's house that I've ordered while over here. Right now, I have a 73 rolling chassis. Body condition is pretty good...typical rust hole at the battery tray. Exterior is pretty straight, other than 2 small dents on a fender and the roof. I dont have any pics of it on hand, but as soon as i get back from my 6 month rotation (Been here since January), I'll be sure to update. So far the list is as follows: -L28et motor -15 Gallon Aluminum Fuel Cell -Walbro 255lph external fuel pump -6 Puck carbon kevlar clutch -Lightened flywheel -Megasquirt I Standalone (MSII Setup currently being built) -Holset HE351 Turbo -Large NPR Intercooler with enlarged end tanks -Pallnet Fuel Rail -440cc Supra 11mm injectors -JTR Radiator kit -R200 Differential -Tokico springs -Innovative Wideband O2 -HKS 40mm External Wastegate -Greddy BOV -Custom 3" Mandrel Exhaust I'll come back and update when I get a chance, just so I can kind of keep things on track with whats going on. I'll also try to get some pictures ASAP...
  6. A friend and I had this very discussion the day after the incident, and I see a lot of points in this thread that were actually the topic of conversation with us as well. First off, i dont believe in reducing the speed. If you limit the speeds, then its going to become just like NASCAR. This sport is based on how fast you get down that track. NASCAR is a much longer race (obviously), and you have a lot more time to try to get to the front of the pack. Drag racing only gives you seconds to do this all in, and everything has to be PERFECT. One small issue with tires, suspension, timing, clutch engagement, etc could spell a loss for the team, or even worse. I also agree with the comment about the sand traps, and how when a vehicle is going that fast, it will just skip across the surface...just like skipping a rock on water. I think instead of limiting or reducing the speeds, there needs to be more innovative safety solutions...The nets area good idea, but obviously they have their faults as well. What about some kind of tire barrier, water barrier, foam, etc? Something that can slow the car down enough that the sand trap will be effective? The bad thing about this crash was that he, like people have been saying, was probably knocked unconscious from the concussion of the motor grenading. That means he 1. Couldnt hit the brakes and 2. Couldnt cut the fuel supply so the motor would stop running. Even if the ignition is cut, the cars are still going to run, simply because of the fact that they end up deiseling. The only way to kill the motor is to starve it of fuel. Its really unfortunate to see such amazing talent succumb to this kind of tragedy, but in reality, they know what their doing, and the dangers of such. They probably could think of no better way to leave this earth... And to them, I tip my hat...Lets just hope that things can change for the better...instead of removing the one thing that drives this sport...all out speed.

  8. Hmm...bringing this back from the dead with a bit of personal experience with SSAC... A couple of years ago I purchased a turbo setup from them that I didnt end up using, so we put some of the stuff on my buddy's SR'd 240sx coupe. We used the large FMIC that I got, which still works great to this day, and we put on one of their very very poorly manufactured turbos on the car to see what we could get out of it. Took us all night to get everything in the car, hooked up and ready to go. Started the car up, and ran through the break in procdedure, and let her fun for a good hour or so just to circulate the oil and coolant through the turbo, etc. Upon the first spool of the turbo, it sounded amazing...until it un-spooled...as it wound down, it sounded like a shrieking monster with a crazy high pitched whine... One turbo down... Got a replacement from them and threw her on. And what do you know...that one failed as well. Well, after that, I wanted a refund, as I now knew that they we're crap...well, their customer service was absolutely HORRIBLE. I've never delt with a company that was as rude as these guys we're. He was literally insulting me via email. He pretty much admitted that their turbo's we're crap, and proceded to insult me further.... Needless to say, I'll never deal with them again. I cut my losses and moved on. I can now say that I honestly believe that its better to get the real deal thing instead of trying to go cheap. Who knows what kind of costs it could generate in the long run...especially when we're talking about boost management...what happens if/when your wastegate fails, and your boost skyrockets and your pistons become metal shards laying at the bottom of your oil pan? How much money would it have really saved you? All in all, in my opinion, its not worth it. The extra cost is worth the peace of mind that I'll get knowing that I'm dealing with a reputable company who will back their product 100%...
  9. I personally love it...except the mirrors seem to be blinded by the rear wheel arches. Also, i think the hood should conoform to the size of the windshield...keep it the same size in the front, but have it curve wider at the rear so it matches the width of the windshield...then the black hood would also match with the black color for the upper half of the car. Would flow a bit better IMO. Also I think the nose should point down a bit more...it kind of has a "stuck up" look to it lol. Other than that, I absolutely love it. Its very aggressive and contemporary, but all the while maintains simmilar lines to the classic z's. Bravo!!! 5 Stars my man
  10. We actually had to repair a friend mine's rear end when the bolt snapped for his rear control arm. The suspension collapsed as we we're backing out of a driveway, so we had to try and weld it back together for a temp fix...So we had to run an extension cord about 50 ft or so lol. But, the welds didn't hold up on it, as it just collapsed again as soon as we tried to move. So, take from that what you will lol
  11. Hey man, I'm not able to see the pictures myself (I'm deployed and DoD computers wont allow me to see the pics hosted on image hosting sites such as photobucket). But I just purchased an HE351 as well, and was curious what your going to do with the whole valve deal for the VGT setup. Are you just blocking that off? Leaving it in there? Or are you going to try to impliment that in some way? Thanks! Jason
