  1. If tokicos still aren't available, I wouldn't hold my breath. I ordered a set back in February and after waiting til august, I finally ordered some kyb's.
  2. Sounds amazing!! I hope you can update us with some times soon!
  3. This project has been going slow, just had a little girl almost two months ago. Anyways, they engine bay is almost finished being shaved and i've been staring at a few of these wires hanging out. I just wanted to make sure that I DO need to keep these two items. Thanks!
  4. It's been hectic during this Holiday season. And you guys have been helpful, this book REALLY needs regone though and colors/diagrams triple checked. HAHA. 1. So from what I gather from these posts is that I use the BLACK/BLUE wire instead of the GREEN/WHITE and that will connect to the "bottom" terminal of the fuel pump switch ALONG with another wire to run back to the positive of my fuel pump? Once this is figured out I will add in a relay to make sure my fuel pump gets full voltage. 2. The oil pressure warning light "side" of the fuel pump switch does NOT get used for anything? 3. Also since I have a 260 (or anything besides a 240) I DO NOT use the BLACK/WHITE (without protective sleeve) to the TACH wire. This is only for the 240's correct? Instead I use the BLUE wire from my ignition box to the TACH on my HEI disty. I don't know why I'm so confused with this. Like I said I've done several wiring jobs (obd0 to obd1 swaps, wiring in extra injectors, numerous electronic boost controllers among other things). I feel better since my first post, just a few more things to clarify. Thanks guys!
  5. So, I'm in the process of doing a gen I SBC swap into my 260. I have the JTR swap kit and even the expensive book he offers. I think he needs to read it once and rework his wording/diagrams. I figured it'd be crystal clear after reading through the book, still isnt after doing that a few times. I'm no noob at wiring, tucked several cars, obd swapped several others, and have been doing car audio setups for over 10 years. But I am a noob to carb'd and sbc motors. I guess I'm confused by his chrysler fuel pump switch. *From what I gather the Black/yellow wire goes to the sbc starter "S" terminal, and also t's off to the "bottom" terminal (of the chrysler switch as you look at it in the book).? *That same "bottom" terminal goes to the "+" on the fuel pump? *The "top" terminal has a fresh wire that connects to the "bat" wire on the HEI distributor (which ties into the black/white wire from the ignition box) I'm sure my (early) 260 has a oil pressure warning light, but the book says nothing as to where that goes. This is really bugging the sh!t out of me. Thanks for any help.
  6. I know this thread says engine bay pics, but I'd love to see what hoods a lot of you guys are running.
  7. Here is a roller I have. The add says it all. It does need floor pans, and rails replaced though. It's in Lincoln Nebraska and if you came over from Iowa I'd drop down to $450 for ya. http://lincoln.craigslist.org/cto/3387190566.html
  8. Thanks Leon! By the looks of your thread, you've been down this road a time or two. haha It's definetly good to know that, that part changed from the begining of the get go and not the switch over point.
  9. So I have been in the process of ordering parts for my 260, and I don't want to make a noob mistake and waste money. My Z's production date is 12/73, so its an early version 260 and is modeled after the 240. Where I get confused is like when I'm looking at a full bushing kit and Energy Suspension divides their kits from 70-73 and 74-78. I believe I would want to order the 70-73 kit, correct?
  10. A few things I have listed.These are located in Lincoln Nebraska. http://lincoln.craigslist.org/cto/3387190566.html http://lincoln.craigslist.org/pts/3387272380.html http://lincoln.craigslist.org/pts/3387239036.html
  11. Whoops I left that part out, I did purchase the book with it. The '72 is still saveable just not with my funds/tools.
  12. Bump! How's this project going?
  13. I'll start off with this is my first v8 car/swap project. I've been into the Honda scene for about 8 years but got tired of spinning all the time hahaha!! So I sold my turbo crx and planned on LSX'ing my s13 coupe, but instead found a clean as f*ck '06 600rr. One month later this guy turned out in front of me, they say I was doing between 45-65mph. And a pic of the bike. Shattered my left wrist, broken left collar bone, torn acl, 3 broken ribs, lacerated liver (two chest tubes put in to drain the blood bleeding inside of me) 5 blood transfusions, and collapsed both lungs! Some say I'm lucky to not remember, but at times I wish I could "see" what happened in the seconds leading to the crash. Somehow I lived through all of that, at 26, this was wayy too close to death than I ever wanted. I had a lot of down time on my hands and wanted a more unique vehicle to do a swap in, so I lived online doing research of all kinds of cars and decided on what I wanted. I originally picked up a '72 240z and knew it needed some work when I got it. I was reading for a project, once I tore into it I realized it was more than I wanted to do. BTW it's for sale...haha located in Lincoln, Nebraska. So it sat in the garage while the search continued. About two months went by and found one on craigslist about 10 minutes away from my house! It's as mint of a Z as an untouched Nebraska car will get. An early 1974 260z, only one very small rust hole (plus a small hole in each floor pan), a few hail dents, and COMPLETE perfect (minus dash) black interior. I looked at it and drove it home that day! The plans were to LSX it, annnndd than the wife got prego.......She told me that I couldn't get rid of the Z though. So my mind was racing around once again trying to figure out a cheaper yet still fun swap. A buddy just bought an older Monte with a sbc 350 and turbo 350 trans. I jewed him down to $250 for the motor and tranny (runs just fine!) and a 125 shot nitrous kit. From there the parts hunt has began! I'll do a short list as to what I currently have. Stock block 350 Aftermarket heads - - 180 runners, 52cc with .600 springs (nothing great but lots better than stock) Cam with 1.6 rockers - - .560/.560 lift 305/305 duration with 110 lobe seperation carb - - Holley 650 double pumper 3500 stall Just ordered the motor mount kit and 1 5/8" headers from JTR. For now I'll be rocking the stock r180 diff . I plan on keeping this one for a looonnnngggg time. So I have plenty of plans (realistic haha). In the end I want this to be a clean daily'able 10 second car. Thanks for looking guys. I am a complete noob to this whole datsun and small block thing, so any helpful words or anything is welcome. I lurk on here quite a bit, I need to stop being so quite though.
  14. Well I posted in the Gen III/IV v8 for a reason. The oil pans are not the same from lm7 to ls1 to ls2... I know parts are interchangeable yet different. Hence my question. A 5.3 oil pan or even ls2 oil pan does not work when doing this swap into an s13 240, either custom moroso or ls1 pan. If its been covered so extensively than you should be able to EASILY point me in the right direction.
