  1. Thanks again I found out that I had the fuel pressure regulators vacuum hose hooked to the wrong area. So I hooked it up to the fitting in the 4th picture with the orange arrow. So is the idle air controller conected right after the air regulator?
  2. Thanks for the picutes. Helps with a couple things. I'll look at the fsm again to see if I can find it. Its hard when the configuration changed every year on these intake manifolds.
  3. Hey everyone, got my engine running but it is running really rough. The engine is a 1980 L28 with a p82 intake manifold. So I'm trying to hook up all the vacuum lines and make sure they are in the right spot. Here is the ac vacuum tank. Heres the ASCD servo valve, not sure what connects to the purple arrow. I have a vacuum line coming out from the fire wall but im not sure where it goes. This valve is on the intake next to the hose that hooks up to the charcoal canister. Lastly, what hooks up to this fitting on the bottom?
  4. Thanks BRAAP I'm gonna do that tomorrow. Cars been sitting for 3 years, can't wait to start it up.
  5. Hey everyone thanks for helping me out. I took some pictures of how its set up right now. The distributor is in the right spot as far as i can tell. Here are the pictures.
  6. Thanks. Right now I have the crank at tdc so that the rotor is pointing at the 1st spark plug terminal. But the camshaft lobes are facing down when i think there supposed to be facing up. Is there any way of checking if I have a bent valve stem? Or do I have to run a compression test on each cylinder to check it?
  7. Hi I took my engine in to get rebuilt about a year ago and I just now got it in the car. I found out that the camshaft is 180 degrees out. What is the easiest way to correct this? Do I have to pull the head or can I just remove the rocker arms? Also if I pull the oil pan will I be able to see the timing chain where it connects to the crank?
  8. thanks ill try that out today.
  9. hi everyone, im putting my engine back together in my 280zx and im having problems remembering how the idler pulley attatched to the engine. i bolted it up and it looks crooked. what am i missing that straightens it up.
  10. is putting the car together

  11. Yeah I've rebuilt several of these datsun engines. Turbo and N/A. They are pretty straightforward and there is a ton of info on this site and in books. Shoot me an email at alecnet@yahoo.com if you need any help or advice.
