  1. Yeah, that was way too easy! The only hard part was recognizing the clap, it almost seemed like it belong there. This morning, I drove to the golf course with absolutely no problems.
  2. The engine is L28E and is EFI. After reading your response I went out this morning and checked to see if I had a fuel pressure regulator on my spare engine. I there it was. After I pull it off and went to replace the original regualator and found that the previous owner had a clap on the line leading to the regulator. I removed the clap and started the car with no problem. Because I had adjusted the idle the day before, it idle very high. So again, I adjust the idle to 700rpm and the car runs great. I think when the OEM fuel pump bypass went bad the previous owner used a clap to regulator the pressure. Thanks for the help.
  3. I replaced my factory fuel pump with an Airtex E8312 fuel pump I got from AutoZone. The pumps fits perfect but now I'm having idle problems. I have tried to make adjustments by adjusting the distributor and adjusting the idle adjust screw. Neither works. The car runs but black smoke is coming from the exhaust which (to me) seems as though too much fuel is being pumped. Can anyone tell what I can do to solve this?
  4. Thanks Super-Pickle and Big Phil, I missed the events on this past Saturday. I've been so busy with work that I'm just getting a chance to logon to the site. I will take a drive out to Ft. Worth sometime this week to check out All Z's. Thanks again!
  5. I'm in Dallas for the month of June and would like to find parts and accesories for my S130. Can anybody tell me where a good store/shop in Dallas?
  6. Gollum, it's funny you say that because I'm in the process of making some custom flush-mount taillights. Maybe that's what's missing. I'll take pic when I finish. Thanks!
  7. I made the measurements, went to a local roofing and sheet metal shop, and the guy there made the piece free of charge. I had to cut it in half just so I could manage the piece better. Tack weld and use bondo to smooth out the corners and bottom. I wanted the piece to cover the lip at the bottom but my friend said it would very difficult to weld and it would take a lot more than bondo to get a smooth finish look. So........... I agree myself that it seems to be missing something, but the more I look at it and the more I drive it, the more I like it. Maybe someday that missing something will come to me!
  8. Here are some pics of the car after I cleaned it up a bit. The shaved rear didn't come out exactly how I visioned but I like it. It's different and a lot people have given me big compliments. So I guess it looks alright.
  9. Before my garage upgrade this is what I had inside. After the upgrade!!! Big Improvement!!
  10. How did you lower your Z? Did you cut the springs? or Replaced with a lower set?
  11. Beautiful car! I'd leave it exactly how it is. Go buy another one and experiment on it.
  12. Check the frame, battery tray, and the floor pans for rust. From the pics it looks manangable if you have the skills or money to do the work. I have SU carbs for sell if you need them.
  13. The seats come out of a 74 240z that I gutted and sold. They were original red, but the previous owner painted them black. I like the seats, so I bought some DupliColor Vinyl paint and wa-la. You see the results. I like the way they turned out. Don't know how the paint will hold before I have to do it again.
  14. My best friend's brother did all the body work for me. All I had to do was buy the paint which Metallic Gunmetal Gray and rent a paint booth which cost me $75 for the day. I got the paint from the Toyota Camry. The paint code is 1G3. I have the wheels, I just need to put them on. The one on the front is actually one of the wheels. There are 16'.
