  1. I would love to see more pics and info about your dash, ive been thinking about doing something similar any chance you could email me some pics and tell me what parts you used and what you got at the junkyard that day? Thanks man email is andrew@youngers.org
  2. your battery gauge should be showing above 14v or very close to it if your alternator is working properly
  3. would the bad pick up coils really keep my coil from sparking? At this point i guess i am more worried that i am only getting 6v on the coil after the resistor, when you said i should probably be getting closer to 9.6v. Because as i said i can get full battery voltage before the resistor anyone the exact specs on that resistor? as of right now it is showing 1.6 ohms... im looking through my manuals trying to find that now so i will know if it functioning correctly or not
  4. Thanks for the info! I dont have an extra distributor, is there a way to test the whether or not he trigger coil is working properly with the distributor on the car? or will i have to take off the distributer to see/test it
  5. Ok I have a 75, transistor ignition, and a california car and im not getting spark off of the coil. My coil is new, my links are new, my transistor ignition is new b/c the old one had a burnt spot on the circuit board. I am 90% sure all my wires are good. I am thinking that my condenser is bad which is why im not getting a circuit and thus the lack of sparks, I am getting 12v to the coil assembly and then 5 ish after the resistor on the coil itself when the ignition is "on" But where is the condenser on this car? I can't find it..... any help is greatly appreciated, ive been having a hell of a time trying to get this car running Thanks
  6. yea its a manual, the only reason i was concerned is that according to my 75 wiring diagram i should have it in my car, so i was baffled when it wasn't there
  7. the fusible links are brand new, both of them, so thats not the problem im going to try to just hotwire the pump just to see if my engine will idle
  8. So my 75 doesnt start b/c when you crank it there is no power to the fuel pump, the pump works just fine when it has power but its not getting any, ive traced all the wires to it and they are all fine. I was reading up about the interlock system since my interior is currently gutted when i realized that i dont have a neutral position switch.... could this be causing the engine not to start as a "safety feature".....if so where can i get this switch, or is there any way to fool the car into thinking its in neutral thanks
  9. ok well i pulled the relay out of the car and its a seemingly new bosch unit and I used the directions in the EFI Bible to test it with 12v of dc and it clicked when it was supposed to and was quiet when it was supposed to be quiet so im starting to doubt the problem is the relay
  10. Hey guys, I have a 75 280z, that turns over but does not start. Ive replaced the plugs, rotor, cap, filters.. etc but when i try to start the car the fuel pump doesn't move. I have taken off the fuel pump and it works fine with 12v running to it. I am thinking that my fuel pump relay might be the problem? How would I test it to see if it was indeed the problem? or do you guys have any other ideas as to why my fuel pump isnt getting power? Thanks
  11. ok, like one of their universal chassis harness kits? any suggestions as to which one? what have you found success with?
  12. i emailed the seller and they said the wiring harness is intact and still with the car so i should be able to use the wiring guide sticky so thats good news...now if only my jetta would sell so i can get going on this project! Thanks for your help guys
  13. wiring won't be a problem?
  14. Hey guys, this is my first post here, ive been researching for a while and ive decided to do a rb25 swap into an s30. i was looking for the car and came across a 240 that did not have an engine or tranny, no big deal right since ill using a rb25 engine and tranny? looking more into i figured it might not be so good because i was planning on using the wiring guide sticky on this forum but without the original harness how do i do this? are there other problems i need to address? As of now i havent seen the car and i was about to email the person selling it to see if it still had the harness, what other things(besides rust) should i be concerned about on this engine and transmission-less car??? and is this easier or harder than starting with a car that has an engine and tranny? Thanks!
  15. hey are those the summit racing seats? if so how do you like them? I was thinking of getting that exact thing, did you go with the summit brackets and hardware and everything? do they fit well? are they comfortable?
