  1. Hey guys. I have a 73 240z that I purchased on cut springs. I have done a lot of other things to her since then including my flare/wheel setup as seen in the picture attached below. I ran out of money until recently (sold my former project car) and I'm ready to rectify the situation with the z's suspension. Personally, I think it sits absolutely perfect. The issue is that the stock cut springs are far too soft and my tires rub over decent bumps and I can't put two people in the car AT ALL. I want a spring/shock combo that is much stiffer than stock but that won't make my car sit like a monster truck. Most lowering springs don't look too stiff, and they only advertise a 1" drop. Am I doomed to spending 1200+ dollars on coilovers, even on a car that will never see a racetrack? Thanks for any help.
  2. 15x10.5 -33 all around 225/50/15 khumo tires Haven't gotten around to ditching the stock valance yet, I've not even tagged the thing since I bought it stock a couple weeks ago Bumpers are now both gone, my marugen shoukai imsa spoiler is still in the mail at present too.

  4. thanks pat1, you're always very helpful on here as far as I've seen, even when I was just a lurker I will dive into this without the expensive harness then. I've wired whole cars and choppers before so I'm sure I can probably figure this one out.
  5. ok sounds good. well places like wiring specialties sell custom made swap harnesses to make the swap plug and play, but from what i can see under the hood, there is very little to "plug." Seems to me that the most i may have to do is get a pinout and feed some power and grounds to the ecu, and wire my fuel pump and ignition switch.
  6. Has anyone put an rb25det into a classic Z without a swap harness? I have a shell that sat in a field so long that I don't trust the stock wiring. Couldn't I just put the engine in and use the stock rb25 harness, splicing in a few wires for power/ground?
