  1. hi, i have a 280zx in good condition. nice interior, rebuilt head (receipts available), outside is okay... a few small dents (easily repaired) and a big dent on the rear left quarter panel, i think that one needs bondo lol. im willing to part with it for 1200 but im open to offers... if ure interested i can take pictures. thing is, i live in california :[ maybe theres some sort of miraculous arrangement we can make? lol.
  2. problem resolved... the fuel pump was defective so the psi was off the charts... also, the previous mechanic put the freakin distributer on the oil drive backwards. idiot! btw, the place i went to was Sunrise Z in Glendale, Ca. theyre the best!!! thanks guys!
  3. oh yeah... so when they put the valve cover back on it wouldnt start again... theoretically, what they did shouldnt have effected the fuel pump... but it did!
  4. lol they switched out the FPR and it was still high the gauge read up to 100 psi... and it was over it... they took off the valve cover cause i had the head rebuilt by an idiot they were just looking to see if everything was installed right... he already checked the timing with a gun, he thought it was running weird cause the distributor runs off the oil drive gear and it was off a few teeth, wasnt the case tho. i really hope they arent trying to run up the bill on me... these guys have been fixing z's for 25 years... they still havent called me tho :/ what else could it be!?!?!
  5. im still a newbie here guys so i hope i dont say anything stupid. so i had my head rebuilt on my 1981 280zx. when i got it back it was idling funny, i tried everything but couldnt fix it so i took it to a z specialist. they suggested the distributor was off by a few teeth on the oil pump drive. when they checked it out it was aligned perfectly. they then took off the valve cover and inspected the valves. then, when they started it up it wouldnt work. they hooked up a pressure guage to the fuel lines and the fuel pressure was super high, more than the guage can read. theyre trying to figure it out right now, i need my car back ASAP... what do you guys think?
