  1. Thank you for clearing that up for me Matt. By the way you have saved me a lot of effort with regards to what sort of mods are required on a 500 hp RB26. I read a lot of the posts and start to think my engine is about to grenade itself. And yet after many years of club level circuit racing I have not had one problem with my engine. cheers, Sinisha
  2. Hi Mike, the reason I question the power figures is that I don't know of many street driven (pump fuel) RB26 engines that make 800 hp atw. So I thought maybe he meant at the flywheel.
  3. Matt, just a quick question, do you mean 500 hp at the flywheel or as measured on a chassis dyno at the wheels? By the way I think you are right about 500 RB26 hp in a S30, mine has that and traction is the biggest problem on the street.
  4. The air cleaners are low down in front, in between the engine and the chassis rail. The idea is to pick up the air from under the car.
  5. The intercooler is mounted on a cowl witch has an inlet under the intercooler that allows air straight to the radiator. That is why it is slanted. The twin blow-off valves made a significant difference to on/off throttle response. As it is a track car this helps driveability. Their position is more a function of where I can fit them then best possible location. The battery is a dry cell.
  6. Here are a few pics of my car, the engine has been in the car for about 10 years now. A few mods have been made since then, it now has about 530 HP and makes for a great track car. cheers.
  7. Had some custom adaptors fabricated out of aluminium, not an easy task. the installation is very tight. My rear brakes are 286 by 25mm vented rotors with a sliding piston caliper, they are off a locally produced Ford with competition pads and ducting for cooling. they are holding up OK for now, maybe at a later date I will upgrade to the 4 piston rears. Higher priority is to upgrade my turbos to some new Garretts.
  8. Hi Guys, I installed a set on my car earlier this year, very happy with the result. Also using Stoptech 330mm Aerorotors and Racebrake ET800 pads. Excuse the quality of the pics (mobile phone).
  9. Can anyone give some information on how impact impact does reducing the weight of a 240Z race car have on lap times? The reason I ask is I am currently stripping the interior of my track/road car and would like to know what sort of gains to expect. cheers.
