  1. This is a most excellent vehical. Wow! Is your car broken in enough for a full dyno yet?
  2. I just notice the runners on that manifold seamed short, its like the classic example of a pulse converter type manifold. The runners on the manifolds they have now are longer: at least it looks that way to me. edit: nevermind, its the GTO kit pictured http://www.airpowersystems.com/ls1/us_gto.htm . Anyhow, you could have dual twin scroll turbos and have each scroll properly fed 180 degree apart runners. Just thinking about this has major w00t factor for me
  3. what turbo kit is that? that looks like an older APS kit...
  4. Wow! I love these threads. I've read that a few cranks are similar to a flat plane before they rotate the sections to make them into a cross plane crank. Is it possible to take a crank out of a VH45de and cut and rotate it to a flat plane? Is this something in even the remote realm of possibility?
  5. Hrmm, very interesting. I must say that the Pantera sounds very nice in it's own right although it doesn't quite sound like a Ferrari. So the combination of everything for high rpm seams to be what is causing that sound. If it were possible to do 180 degree headers as short as the Ferrari ones for each bank that might be the solution. Unfortunately its a divide by zero solution I think i'll be happy if I can at least get a nice crisp note of the 180 degree headers.
  6. hi, I've been lurking on here for quite a while, which started with me seeing a pretty nice 240z a while ago... Anywhozel i've been reading a lot on these forums and have especially taken interest in these single plane V8 threads. I noticed that the stock VH45DE intake manifold has the runners properly grouped for a 'clean' resonance response inside of the main plenum: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v344/gsracer/Projectbacktobasics/IMG_6510.jpg Where as the Ferrari groups the cylinders on each bank for the same purpose: http://www.ferraricars.org/img/ferrari-f430/engine-01.jpg So I wonder if a VH45DE with 180 degree headers and some low frequency exhaust note filtering with some exhaust resonators would yield that Ferrari sound? You guys know a lot more then me, this was all just random thoughts and I figured this would be a good entry point out of lurk mode I know with some exhaust tuning we could hit the stock Ferrari sound: I've been at America Le'Mans series with opened up Ferraris and although they still 'screamed down the straight' they had a much deeper exhaust note then i've heard of out stock ferraris
