  1. PM me if you have the hood torsion bars, I seem to have misplaced one during a move. Thanks guys!
  2. Thanks for the advice Pillar! It took me a bit to get back to you because I got lost in the sea of information that's here. Again, thanks for taking the time to help a newbie out and not just write it off as annoying. Cheers!
  3. Hello, Any further information on this issue? I am trying to study up so I don't ask all the dumb questions floating around in my head The other thing I keep running into is this message below. Are these messages due to how long ago they were posted here? Any way for me to see these pictures? Thanks everyone.
  4. Looking good! Always encouraging to see another Michigan Datsun lover out there, since we have very limited time to have them on the road! I just sold an RB to a kid out of Cedar Springs that he is swapping in to a 76 280. So there are a few of us up here. The guy that hooked you up with the seats, does he sell seats, or have a way to get any more? Just curious, always nice to know people. As I am looking into the cost difference of purchasing new seats (aftermarket) or reupholstering my stock seats. Either way, thanks for the updates! -Curtis
  5. I just sold this last weekend, local, guy drove in from a couple hours away and I let him take it for $2,200. I don't feel too bad about that since it means I bought my 280 for $2,400
  6. Thank you all for your help, I do recall seeing your thread now that you post it Joe. Mxs and seattlejester thank you as well. I just figured out I searched price check for the RB25 and not the for sale section. Newbie mistake. I'm actually impressed to see such a fine Z car in Michigan, although I was kind of hoping I had the only RB25 for sale within a few hundred miles to help my sale price. Thank you again for all you guys do for everyone on here.
  7. Thank you for your feedback. When I bought it, it was installed in the car, just needing minor things and to finish hooking up the wiring (which I forgot to mention I also have) The guy I bought it from runs a reputable mechanic shop, owned by an independant car dealer here in town. He did the compression test on the engine when he purchased it, but I did not get the numbers. I don't know of any importers in Michigan, only Indiana and Ohio, which are a good 2.5-3 hours from me. I listed it on my local Craigslist, and just sort of tested the waters. I ended up telling a couple guys $3,250 for all of it, OBO figuring if I got at least $2,500 I'd be happy. I finally figured this would be a great place for input, because I don't think the average person knows what these engines are worth.

    RB25DET

Hello, After looking around for a few days, I have found several threads from years ago about RB25 prices, as well as the recent 240z with an RB25 in it. I was just wondering if you all could chime in and give me some assistance on what I should expect to sell an RB25DET for. I purchased a 1977 280z with the RB25DET swap started, however, I've always been a sucker for the V8 Z. So here is a list of what I have. 1993 RB25DET 5 speed manual Trans intercooler/piping and connectors BOV Downpipe Mckinney Mounts GREDDY knockoff intake Q45 throttle body Stock 280z radiator I have also checked online, Ebay and a few other sites. The prices seem to be quite fair, however, most of the people selling them are JDM dealers that import them, so is it fair to expect to sell one private party for anything near to that? Lastly, I am not trying to make a killing here. I am looking for someone who loves Z's as I do and has been looking for just this engine! Which is why I finally decided to ask here. So, what do you all think is a mutually beneficial price, where each side is getting a good deal. (Assuming that is possible) Perhaps a low, medium and high price would be helpful. Thank you to all of you who still post on here to help the next generation of Z fans out. Curtis
  9. Hello, new to this site and just bought my second Z. First one is a summer daily driver 1983 280zx that has suffered too many Michigan winters. However, I got this 280Z from Florida and am excited to get it restored and ready for driving. Looking for any feedback, tips, pointers, opinions, hints. Basically anything anyone cares to suggest as from reading several threads the people here have a very vast base of knowledge on Z cars. Thank you for any help and happy driving!
