  1. so i received some bad news today... the shop that was rehoning the LS1 told me that the block had sustained too much damage (no wonder i got it for so cheap!) and they would need to overbore it by at least 30. now that is sweeet and everything, but unfortunately, with new pistons and rings and crank (which apparently was also bad) i'm looking at waaaay too much effort and money to fix this thing. so it looks like csb 350 or ford 351 here i come!
  2. Oh hey,, btw - if anyone has any experience dropping in an LS1 into a zx, hit me up. I cant seem to find very many people who have gone this route- it seems to be mostly 350csb or ford 351 guys.

Alright, here are some pics of a z that I got for $350 - I'm further along than what you see here, but basically I've run into an LS1 for fairly cheap, and have a roommate who wants to rebuild it. I'm in charge of everything not drivetrain, so I'm pulling the interior, tearing up the dynamat, putting in new insulation, carpeting, seats, dash, everything. The LS1 is going to be putting out around 320hp stock, but very easily 400+. I need to upgrade brakes and suspension for sure, and put on some fatter tires - I was thinking 16 x 7 or 16 x 8, but I'm not really that far ahead in my planning. So here are some pics of the wonder. p.s. - I have some slight rust along a frame rail, and by slight I mean about 1 inch square, maybe slightly larger. I was going to cut it out and just have a guy mig or tig something in there. But I have heard that I might want to just sleeve the entire frame rail while I'm at it for reinforcement - any thoughts from you guys? And I might have a LE28T up for sale in a couple of months... runs pretty well - rough on a cold start. I'm also looking for a t56 or a t5 tranny. Pm me.
