Hi all Bought a 280Z, engine was in very good condition, after minor adjustments simply perfect. Did a small rebuild, car is running much too rich. Symptoms: lots of dark smoke from exhaust (I mean like freakin VW TDI meeting just with a single L28), black and wet spark plugs, big fuel consumption What I've done during rebuild: new ignition, thermostat, all gaskets, fuel lines. I'VE ALSO SENT INJECTORS FOR RENOVATION. Before renovation- worst one had static dose 180cc/min, after they are 198-200cc DELETED: carbon filter, EGR valve and it's vacuum switching valve, vacuum line that goes to BCDD, dashpot (was dead anyway), somekind of vacuum/temperature switch that was between EGR and BCDD (it has bronze body, was screwed to this thingie that heats air regulator) LEFT UNTOUCHED: head, block, timing, oil pump, fuel pump, pressure regulator, air flow meter, throttle valve switch, wiring What We've checked so far: Spark is perfect. DISCONNECTING AIR FLOW METER: idle goes a bit up, less smoke at idle, but more on throttle. PLAYING WITH THROTTLE IDLE SWITCH: car reacts What I think may be worth checking: fuel pressure regulator. I need to buy pressure gauge and check pressure value. So after all of this- do you have ANY ideas what can be dead/wrong?
