  1. I just started tearing the interior out. I didnt realize there were so many nuts and bolts everywhere. I got the dash out now I have to go a little deeper and get more out. I cant wait to get this thing going.
  2. And I'm doing a lt1 swap for $2000. Makes me look cheap.
  3. I cant remember his name but I think it was firion__13? He used his stock cluster and he said there was little pots that you could adjust to use the chevy speed senors and tach.
  4. I have 2 sbc 350's sitting in my back yard and a vette th350 and I'm wondering if they are the same physical size as an lt1 and 4l60e/700r4. Would it be a good place to start? I'm pretty sure I read that the lt1 is just the next gen sbc350 and its mostly the same so are the engine monts the same? I'm trying to start working on th is and not put any money into it for now. It would be nice to get all this work out of the way then get the lt1 and trans next year when I get the money for the swap.
  5. I personally look at it like this. The japanese engines have unknown miles. With the american engines, more than likely the original owner will post the original mile on the engine and if you ask you can see pics of the odo to be sure. The american engine has the torque down low and holds power all the way up. The japanese engines that I've drove/ been in were all hp up top. Some may say that the japs get better gas mileage but how true is that if you have to rev it higher to get to the same speed as the american? I've read corvettes with ls1's getting 25-28mpg easy driving. Maybe the japanese engine can do that I'm not sure. I would personally go with the ls1. I like american power and japanese styling. Unfortunatly I have limited funds so I'm going with a lt1 and if money permits later, I'll sell the lt1 and opt for an ls1. I think I'm going to try to keep my z32lt1 under 2 grand doing all the work myself.
  6. I just unplugged all the plugs to the engine and left them in there for now. I still have to take the transmission out then I'll take the unnecessary wires out.
  7. I'm just starting to plan for my ls1 swap. I still have to pull the engine out and get the bay all cleaned up. I'll be able to do all the mechanical parts but the electrical part is the only thing that has me confused. The only other problem I'm having is the money for this car.
  8. Amazing! I wish I had the $ to do it on my 300zx but a 350z? You are my new hero.
