  1. Grumpy, Any suggestion on a good aftermarket cam for a 5.3? I have acquired one for my 300 but its a stock 5.3 and I am looking to beef it up a bit. Thanks for any help -Josh
  2. quick50 - I say we pull the motor sell it and get you a lsx in there dts300zx - Im working on one... dont worry there will be more!
  3. also forgot to ask but what about the wiring harness for the rest of the cars parts? I pulled my whole wiring harness and realized nothing else will work... soo am I going to have to rewire to the ls wiring harness? or what I am not sure what to do
  4. I just looked at a local guys 300zx with a 383 stroker in it last night he fabbed his own from metal plates and tubing for the left side and used the stock mount for the right....(wouldnt really recommend that) but its a all else fails life or death quick fix.
  5. Thanks for the info! Looks like I am to a stopping point now till the funds come up for the tranny and engine... waiting for money BITES!!! lol...
  6. Is anyone planning on going? Its a pretty big lowrider/car show next month down here on the coast. They have the judging on Saturday, dragstripe/ bikini contest (always wild) Saturday night then awards and some other small stuff on Sunday. Its June 20-21 this year. The website for it is www.scrapinthecoast.com . I couldn't find a regions listing on here.
  7. Wow its actually hotter there than it is down here. Granted we are getting rained on all weekend. Im starting the removal process. Does anyone have a list of all the crap I have to pull out of the engine bay. I know engine, tran, ecu and wiring harness are a given, but all the pictures I see it looks like everything has been pulled but I wanted to check before I start just pulling stuff out of the engine bay.
  8. ha ha that might work in maryland but down here it would a heater instead of A/C
  9. there has to be a easier way! Then to hack all that to fit the lsx in a 300! but if not guess I will have to fire up the old trusty hacksaw and grinder.... I havent done any measurments yet for my car, but how much have yall had to hack are we talking a 1/2 inch? or like 2 inches? because if its a half of a inch I would rather try to hammer the wall in in certain spots then hack the wall....
  10. Im trying to remember how I did it. I think I just ended up taking the upper manifold off (it was about a year ago)... As for loosing the wrenchs. I kept doing that also so now I take a peice of fishing line (had it around) and made a slip knot on both sides knot on the shaft of the wrench and the other around my wrist. havent lost one since
