  1. The Z was delivered today while I was at work. I inspected it real quick when I got home. The original paint was orange and was (poorly) painted over as red. I've never seen a z in real life aside from the 350z so I was surprised at how small and low it is. Which is a good thing since my garage isn't exactly the biggest. This is my first project car. So I'm not sure how long this will take me but I'm shooting in the ballpark of no longer than 2 years. The Bad: The floorboards are shot so they need replaced. Huge holes. The ignition is finicky. Still runs when its turned off, so that needs replaced. The clutch will need replaced. The dash isn't too bad. Has 2 cracks in it, but that was expected. Seats are shot. But came with sweet seat covers. Horrible back bumper things...I dunno. Exhaust is in the middle of the car looks weird. Small crack in the front windshield A small dent in the hood and one on the top. The kinda good: The spare wheel well is in perfect condition, no rust in the back at all. Engine seems alright, runs well and sounds really nice. Lights, wipers, etc...work. The Good: The clock still ticks. Not that much rust aside from the floor. Frame is fine It's drivable. Pics to come Sunday. Hope everyone has a Happy 4th (If you live in the US)
  2. Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and just purchased a 1971 240z on ebay. I haven't received it yet, but I thought I would start this thread since I'm impatient. So far what I know about the car is that it was the seller's neighbor's car that he knew for 12 years. He said it was garage kept and rarely driven. He believes there is 29,XXX miles on it (I can't remember the exact number) which at first I thought it was 129XXX but now that he said that the original owner rarely drove it, who knows til I get it. He also said it is in great condition and runs excellent. Only the floorpans are rusted out because after his neighbor passed away it was out on the lawn for a year or so I got it for $1500 and he said that it "was one hell of a deal as far as I'm concerned." We'll see when I get it. Anyway I'm going to try and do a full restore to this car. Paint it yellow and make it a nice weekend driver. Pics to come when its at my house Here is one of the pics he provided.
