  1. I need something that will go around the big clunky LT-1 water pump. I got the motor with no brackets, and I'm trying to come up with a cost effective solution. Corvette brackets cost a fortune.
  2. Has anyone ran 95ish Vortec accessory brackets on a Z? Will they fit under the hood? I modified a set, to run on my carbed LT-1 and they sit pretty high up there. I'll only be running the Alt and the A/C compressor. I was just wondering if anyone had tried them.
  3. I had a performance cam in my N42 head. It went flat due to in proper valve lash and years of abuse. I have an N47 head laying around and I was wondering if it would fit. I know the oiling systems are different, so would I still need the squirters or would the oil flow through the cam like on the N47 head? I have a F54 block with flat top pistons running about 10.5:1 compression if that makes any difference.
  4. My not so bright friend backed his truck into my drivers side front fender. It didn't hurt anything else, but the fender is all stretched and would be a pain to fix. Anybody in Oklahoma have a drivers side S-30 fender for sale, or know where I might find one? I've called the local wrecking yards and haven't had any luck.
  5. When you guys talk about the JTR radiator. Are you talking about the one JTR sells with the thicker core, or the 85-92 4.3L Chevy van radiator that they recommend in the manual? Has anyone running the Griffin had any problems with cracking after long term use?
  6. How do you wire the Opti if you are going to run a carb? Can you adjust timing? Do you need the ECU? Sorry for all the questions, but I have never heard of this before.
  7. I think the voltage regulator is going, or gone. My amp meter in the car pegs out at anything over 2000 rpm. I know not to touch the bulbs, and there are rubber boots to keep out moisture. I just hope it's something that simple.
  8. That makes a lot of sense. I'll check that out. Thanks a bunch! I love this site!
  9. I have 78 280z that i have "up graded" to the crappy plastic lenses with the replaceable bulbs. I put in relays when i did the swap, and had absolutely no problems for a year and a half. Then a few weeks ago my passenger low beam blows. Not a big deal, my lights aren't that bright so I drive it with high beams for a couple of days until my driver side high beam blows. Bummer, so i replace both bulbs. I tested the lights and checked my relays, no problems, but as I'm pulling out of work that night i see two quick flashes and everything goes dark. I switch to highs, and see another flash, and I'm down to one high beam. I checked for frayed wires and bad connections, then replaced bulbs again. had no problems for a month, but tonight lost both low beams while pulling out of work. The only common element as far as i can tell has been the weather. Every time it has happened it has been cold and misting, like just before it starts raining. I'm not great at electrical, but I can usually fumble my way through. Has anyone ever had a problem like this before? What should I check. thanks, Jason
  10. Hey Bartman, What kind of mufflers are you running? I looked on you web page and couldn't find an answer. I watched a couple of you videos, and I love the way your car sounds. I'm starting a LT1 swap and trying to get all the pieces together. Thanks.
  11. A guy at my work has a 82 or 83 turbo motor that he's been storing for a long time. I'm sure it needs all new gaskets and seals, but he says it had only had 32,000 miles when he pulled it out. Something about a tornado and a telephone pole. I'm not sure if he has all the parts or not. What should I be looking for when I take a look at the motor? I'm going to put it in my 280Z. How much should I offer if he has the full package. How much could be missing and still be worth my time? Thanks in advance for the help, you guys are awesome.
