  1. Thank You brapp from me as well! I must have 20+ bookmarks on this process alone and you summarized it quite nicely.
  2. I'm in for the trigger mount, hub, and laser cut wheel. Thanks.
  3. I've been looking into this as well and this thread suggests the closer the better... and since its from 2005, I'm assuming directly attached to the fuel rail has worked well and will try it myself. Effect of FPR mounting location on AFR's (long) Also, this car/engine was in the for sale section a little while ago (it sold quickly) with the FPR on the rail, so I think you should be fine.
  4. No Direct experience with it, but saw this some time ago. You do have to cut the spring perch however and its only for the 240Z/early 260Z. Let us know if you get a price quote. http://store.datsunspirit.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=73
  5. Hi Derek, I purchased an L28, 3.0 Engine "package" from another member of the forum a few months ago that included this FPR and it was running very strong. I haven't completed my install, so I don't have any long term experience with it. I actually have a Mallory that I'll be using so the Autoteq one will be going up for sale. Let me know if you're interested in a partial trade for EDIS mounting parts. Gene
  6. Replacing motor mounts on an s30 is very straight forward so I would assume your zx would be as well. You just need to make sure you can safely lift the engine an inch or so after disconnecting/checking all the engine connection points (transmission mount, exhaust, intake, radiator, etc.).
  7. Hey guys, I finally got my 88 5.0L Mustang engine in the Z last weekend and took some pics to show the sump/cross member clearance... Its currently sitting on some wood blocks, about an 3/4 inch too high and 1 inch too forward so it is just hitting the cross member. If I move it back and down it will clear with about an 1 inch space to the firewall... A tight fit for sure... I started having doubts when I was putting it in (with the T5). I will have to notch the hood latch and am considering notching the "lip" on the cross member if I have to. But I really like the way 74_5.0L_Z added a 3/16 inch spacer under the cross member mounts, so will give that a try first (thanks!).
  8. Hey Don, I was going to use the existing rubber mounts with "L" brackets, but I like the idea turning the original brackets upside down... I'll give it a try, thanks! I wasn't surprised to find that the plate went between the timing cover and water pump. I found these sites and saw that the plates were similar and figured they're installed the same way: http://www.campbellenterprises.com/motorplates.htm http://www.racecarpartsdepot.com/motor-plates.html I was a little concerned about mounting between the timing cover and water pump after reading a thread about reliability, but 74_5.0L_Z confirmed his setup is working well and reduces the "potential leak path for water into the oil". I also found this site with a 7 second mustang, so figured it was strong enough (has front and mid). Good luck to you as well.
  9. That's great. I just recently got serious about my 5.0 240 Z swap after years of "thinking" as well. I pulled the L24 out a week ago, sold it yesterday and going to buy my 89 Mustang 5.0 motor tomorrow. I also just ordered the Competition Engineering motor plate from Summit, so hopefully I'm test fitting the engine this weekend.
  10. No problem ZTR The search takes some getting used to. I like these wheels a lot too. They remind me of the old school American Racing Libra I had on my first 240z. http://www.311s.org/tech/wheels/wheelsfaq.html [/url]
  11. You need to click on the search link, NOT the search box at the top of the page. I typed cragar and it was the second link having to do with 5 lug adaptors. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=34813&highlight=cragar the z referenced is here http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/8/9/73078389.htm
  12. I'm in for a couple of stickers, shirt and hat. Thanks.
