companies in Europe.   Since the car will represent them at a SEMA SHOW, you bet they will go all out.   I seen some of their previous 

restoration work and their workmanship is excellent.   The 260Z Project Car is from California and is pretty good shape.  The body seems to have relative only minor corrosion problems( even the floor pans probably don't need to be replaced.

I want to do this one, KPGC110 skyline tailights. The only problem is, where to get them in America? I have been looking for some time now, and haven't found anything but the panel for a lot of $$$$. Does anybody know where to get some of these?

240Z assembled body.  The Actual Chinese Reproduction of the 2025 SEMA SHOW Toyota A86 Body was purchased and examined by several individuals who expressed their opinions about the body.   The owner will attempt to assemble the vehicle with available Aftermarket Parts( tail lights, interior parts,etc.  This body was the same one at the SEMA Show so time will tell its quality and parts fitment is up to the OEM Standards.   This body came from the same factory as the 240Z body at the 2024 Sema Show.

I checked this at the Sema Show and after watching this video, my opinion on this car is there is a definite lack of quality control in the welding of this car.  There seems to be a lack of spot welds on some of the panels.  On Utilized Body Cars, spot welds

will determine the strength of structure.   Normally, the original manufacturer would use Robotic Spot Welders on the Assembly Line.  On this car, the welds are not located close together thus not providing a strong panel.  Another major flaw is the Front Strut Mounting Holes are oval not round as they should be.  This shows a definite Quality Control Issue.  It seems that assembly of this car was rushed and put together just for the show.

The Collision Industry has a established Standard -ICAR which provides proper methods of assembly of Body Parts.   A ICAR Body Specialist should inspect this car before it is put on the road or used as a race car.

They would not give the price at the show but say it would be give out at the end of the year.   I believe they are waiting till the Tokyo Auto

Salon Show happening in Tokyo in January 2026.  They were planning a production run of 100 of these Aluminum Panels.   The well known 

Japanese Performance Company-Star Road is handling the sale of these 240Z panels.  The panels have an excellent fit and well constructed.  I would definitely recommend them.

  Just consider, even if you do not need the whole body assembly, they have to created every sheet metal body stamping of the 240Z. So

almost any 240Z, no matter how corroded or damaged could be bought back to life.

Searching here and around the web reveals plenty of builds with these size tires but flare sizing and brand is not clearly mentioned.

Retro Spec has a wide ZG set at 3.25" and 3.75" front and rear.  However, many members caution dealing with Retro Spec as of lately.

Margugen Shoukai are quality and the thickest "Special" model are recommended.  However, it's unclear if they made a wide version to fit above wheel/tire.  Jesse at jesse@jessestreeter.com will ask MS and get back to me.

it takes to perform body restoration.   The individual demonstrating  the bodywork is a very skilled artisan and uses some specialized body

tools.   He repairs most of the bodywork with his years of skill.   In some cases, a individual not as skilled could use reproduction Z body

which are now available in the USA.   As I found out later, I think these videos were made in Switerland.   European and Asian countries have  Vocational Apprentice-ship Education Programs that student start into their selected vocations( plumping, electrical, automotive bodywork,etc at age 15.   So the student starting learning a vocational trade at least 3 to 4 years ahead of vocational schools in America.

Unfortunately, most people tend to look down on individuals  who go to Trade Schools instead of College.   Yet, they can make a Six Figure

Income at their Trades.

 To work on the Z Floor Body Pans, the Two Methods most often utilized is Car Rotisserie or Tilt Rotisserie.   A Car Rotisserie costs over

$1000 or you could rent on or make your own (using two engine stands).  The   choice is to construction of a Wooden Tilt Rotisserie.

It built using 2" X  6" lumber and some plywood costing about $80 from Home Depot.

it is too labor intensive.   Using Total Chemical Vehicle Dip (previously shown)  would be much faster and still be able to remove internal corrosion (in boxed areas).   But in certain case such as surface corrosion, this method would work well.

I found the video interesting as it provide a new option in corrosion and paint removal in the restoration process.

This Body Man does a lot of Vintage Cars Restoration in Japan.  Race Cars are also done.

First we sized everything up and looked at it.  Then looked some more.  Then swap them all around and looked more.  Then repeat 10 times.  Finally we drew a fat line with a Sharpie on tape where the cuts would go. 

structure.   Even, Abrasive Blasting can not get inside of the interior of the boxed metal.   Also, after the chemical wash, a rust inhibitor

is sprayed completely on the metal surface.  This inhibitor will prevent even surface rust from forming for couple days to a week depending on the humidity of your area.   But, Chassis Epoxy Paint should be appied as soon as possible to prevent surface rust from forming.

The only Downside of this Cleaning process is Cost and Location of these Dipping Plants.  The prices cost over $1500.   The location of the Plants are few and far away( check Web for the closest one to you).

  I found this video by Larry Chen about the relative new source of 240Z restoration parts.   Their inventory covers body parts,interior plastic panels, grills,etc.   If any one have tried their parts, please let us know concerning fit,quality,price and customer service.

 Their Website pic shows a 240z salvage yard so they might also sell used 240z parts.   the company name is Resurrected Classics in Auburn, Georgia.

By that I mean a plastic inner liner that closes off the front and back of the wheel well like on any modern car. This would be for better aero, and also to protect the inner fender from rocks and whatnot.

Has anybody got something like that on their Z? I was thinking of going to the junkyard and trying to find something that I could make fit (once the weather improves here), but I'd love to see if anybody else has done this before.

From my research, it appears that 275s are the biggest tire that can fit under the standard size ZG flares, is that correct?  Anyone know the max size under the extra wide flares?

1) I have read that if you have a rear spoiler without a front spoiler, the front end becomes light and squirrelly at speed.  Is this true, and what speed are we talking about?  This will be a street car with a few passes at the dragstrip per year.  Is the BRE spoiler short enough that this effect is minimal?  Car will have a Xenon type 1 urethane air dam with aluminum supports so it doesn't deform at speed, but no splitter per day.

2) Is the 'real/original' BRE spoiler a good choice? ( https://www.datsun-garage.com/products/the-original-bre-rear-spoiler-1970-78-240z-260z-280z?variant=31473838391380 ).  Anyone have any experience?  Any pictures?  Seems like the 6 mounting points is a good idea.
