Hey all-

We still have a robust and active membership here at HybridZ; but unfortunately, donations have really dropped off the last 4-5 years. We do derive some level of revenue from ads; but that typically falls well short of actual operating costs for the website (web hosting fees, software license fees, etc, etc.) Was chatting with @SuperDan recently, and he estimated that our annual expenses exceed advertisement income by $1300-1600 every year!

Soooo, we are asking that folks consider making a donation to keep the forum up and running. We've had some issues with the "Donation" function recently, but it should be resolved now and working correctly. Anyone wishing to make a Donation and running into any issues whatsoever, please don't hesitate to post here (or PM me directly) and I will ensure your issue gets resolved. For your ease of reference, here's the link to the "Donation" button: https://forums.hybridz.org/clients/donations/

I will probably post this announcement in a couple of different locations on the Forum to ensure maximum visibility. Thanks for your time, and Happy Motoring.

	Greetings Everyone,

Due to the increase in spammers HybridZ, registration has changed from being automatic to manual. That means one of the Admins will need to approve any new registrants. If you ask or tell someone about HybridZ (please do) let them know registration isn't automatic anymore. We'll do our best to stay on top of any additions and hopefully you all will see a lot less spam.

	Thanks,

Greg has been my mentor on my EP car restoration for the past two years, one of the best amateur drivers in the country. If you are near VIR on April 7th, come check out the race! @jhm This one's for you!

How many of us use Instagram captions and tag our images with #hybridz? There is a lot of support for the Z online, and I enjoy using Instagram to document my progress and Z-related changes. I reasoned that I couldn't be the sole user of it on this website. So please feel free to follow me on Instagram if you'd like (hw vigo) and use the hashtag #hybridz to promote this wonderful community that we have.

So, I changed the donation system to make any member who donates $100 or more to become a lifetime donating member.

Thanks to everyone that purchased a piece of apparel in the fundraiser to help @SuperDan with operating costs for the site!

We sold a total of 88 shirts with a resulting profit of $1202.19, which I just sent 100% of to Dan. It won't show as a donation because I sent it via friends and family to ensure every penny made it to him. This should cover the site's costs for about 6 months.

Moving forward, I'll be doing an annual apparel sale with 100% being donated towards operating expenses. Each year we'll do a different promotional item since many of you now have several HybridZ shirts in your closet! Looking forward to hearing your ideas on what you'd like to see along with the shirts. Hats, beanies, keychains, stickers, etc all come to mind.

It is with great sadness that i pass on the following news to the Z-communty. My son Ross was hospitalized February 16th, for extreme back pain. The resulting tests led to emergency surgery February 21st. The diagnosis is Sarcoma NOS. A very aggressive form of cancer that had invaded his spine, spread to his lungs and caused him to lose the function of his lower body in a very short time. His health has continued to decline and he is currently in Palliative care and given a few weeks to live. Although he attempted to keep up his orders over the past few months he was unable to do it in his condition. At this point he cannot operate his business or direct its affairs.

Hello fellow Zers I have no idea what hybrid Z is like anymore but I just re upped for an update.

After 3 years of racing the Z in events all over the west coast it was time to do a refresh on the motor.

Of course during this time life got busy... bought a house... sold a house.... bought an s15.... sold a s15.... moved to Southern California and bought another house.... Now life Has become more stable and I have re focused on the Z .

The best the car did on the last set up was 781 at the tires with nos on top of that. However for racing it was turned down from that number so about 650-700 at the tires on day to day events.

with this new set up I should be able to do close to 1000whp without spray.

I will post more in the Toyota section

	Hello all,

I just wanted to give a warning. I am not sure why, definitely after our migration, but it seems like symbols and foreign characters and such in the title of your posts can cause the hyperlink to break.

That means although your post exists, clicking on it will not take you to the post and result in a "page not found." This also seems to be the case with some punctuation. I've noticed when some of our foreign users use punctuation they appear different, the symbols are then converted and the page cannot be found if used in the title.

Although an inconvenience, I suggest staying away from symbols or foreign letters in post titles.

If anyone finds their link results in the same please let me know, I have found I can merge them under a new title and restore the body of the posts usually.

I have been testing the new server and forum software upgrade for a few weeks now and things have gone much better than I expected..

The move will start this coming Thursday morning 08-31-2017 and is expected to take about 6 hours to complete.

The site will be inaccessible during the move and upgrade

When the site becomes accessible again there are background rebuild process that will being running over the next few days to finalize the upgrade. Expect to see little glitches here and there during this time. Things like images disappearing, text formatting looking funny, search not working etc.

Once these processes are complete I will post a note about it a create a support thread so any issues you guys have can posted.

Know Your Password

Make darn sure you know what your password is for your account and that your email address is up to date. DO THIS NOW!!! We cannot stress this enough.

You may be required to login to the new forum once the site is back up. We know most of you stay permanently logged into the site and may have forgotten your password so you need to take care of that now.*

Make Sure Your eMail Account is Current

Make sure your email is up to date. This is the only way the system and the admins can communicate with you. Its the ONLY way password resets can be performed. Make sure your spam filter is not blocking emails from hybridz.org.

This is very important because sending the admins requests to reset your password will most likely end up in the trash for security reasons. This is especially true if you send an email to an admin from an email account that is different than the one listed in your account profile.

*Note about Facebook Login

Recently there has been an issue with user trying to use Facebook to login to HybridZ. This issue will be resolved with the new version of the forum software. It was a change to the Facebook API that is not compatible with our current forum software.

We are in the process of reorganizing forum structure. In effort to ease general forum traffic, most of the stickies/pinned topics are being moved to the FAQ sub-forum.

The FAQ's are now locked from new threads being created, but you may reply to existing threads. Staff will move threads into the FAQ's as needed.

The bulk of the move is complete, but there is still a great deal of housekeeping yet. We ask for your patience and hope that it helps future navigating.

Thanks,

Staff.

Ok folks, a reminder from the classified rules:

6. HybridZ Classifieds are used to buy parts/product. NOT to tell sellers you can get it cheaper somewhere else. You can place a lower offer to the seller, but statements of "being over price" will not be tolerated.

A few folks are not aware of this rule or are choosing to ignore it. Unless the seller asks for opinions on pricing, keep your opinions to yourself. I'm going to start deleteing comments in for sale adds that violate this and warn the commenter.

All,

Our host had a major crash. The good news is that they were back on line shortly. The bad news is that we've rolled back a couple weeks, losing all of our most recent data. SuperDan pays for daily back-ups so this shouldn't have happened, but unfortuantly it has. He is currently pursuing action with the host but the end result will likely be the same - lost data. That said, you all have our sincerest appologeis for the inconvinence and I can assure you that Dan is taking steps to keep this from happening again.

Again, sorry.

For some reason a half-dozen newbies have hit me up this week via PM asking if I sell this stuff. Not since 2011. Nobody has their products right now in the USA. Tokico screwed up their distribution channel 3 years ago and have not recovered. They are advertising on LinkedIn for two or three manager positions so it looks like the key people have quit or were fired.

Buy KYB, Koni, Bilstein, Monroe, or STAGG.

Just don't ask me, I don't sell that stuff.
