  1. OS Giken is the tunner company that made that dual cam head isn't it? The handful of heads they made retail for 10 or 20k some crazy figure around that. I read somewhere that with that head you can get around 300hp NA
  2. I figured most rides that are posted are insanely well built with crazy amounts of time and money spent on them. But mine sure is nothing close to that. I've posted countless topics with retarded questions and ecology junk yard finds. But this time I wanna show case my "$900 GREEN HORNET" Its nothing more and nothing less than a stockish 260 with craigslist add ons $100 headers $90 3 inch exhaust $120 SU's $60 points distributor $40 mechanic fuel pump What I'm getting at, is that I've made myself a decent driving daily driver (minus the body work and paint) I'm looking for your guys and gals' opinion. Two nights ago, or last night? I purchased an intake manifold to do a Holley 390 swap on it. I figured it would be easier, with an electric choke and a single "american" carb it would make my life easier and it would make it more dependable, keeping in mind that I am not a carburetor guru and this is the first car I've layed my hands on and got them greasy and bloody switching out organs and what nots. Performance wise my car is not that bad, I know I probably wouldn't beat half the Z's out there or any mustangs at all( learned that last week) But I sure as hell smoked my bug and my dad's bug (not that I should be bragging about beating a bug) Go for the Holley or stay with the SU's? On a side note, why the FFF does my block have a huge scar on the side of it?? Did the block crack or what?
  3. What mustang did you have? what engine? I "raced" a mach 1 on a red light last week from what I can tell, my car needs a lot of work (Sucky SU's) I lost! Good job man, I have a 260 also, but i'm running a 240 points distributor and SU's from a 240. I agree with you that a single Holley is better if you're barely learning to mess with carbs, as I am also barely learning to mess with carbs and I just bought a used AZ Z car manifold for a really good deal last night. If you're worried about the HP on a 37 year old car don't get your hopes up, if it drives how you want it then that's perfect. You on the other hand have a semi modded engine that most likely performs better than a stock engine, it all depends on the condition of the thing itself. What engine swap are you planning on doing? If you wanna get rid of the Holley any time soon IM me and I'd be happy to buy it off of you.
  4. Dang, I really underestimate how good of a reference this site is.
  5. I didn't know they had different style louvers for S30's I know a guy in Socal who's selling some metal ones, really rough and beat up I wonder how hard/easy it is to restore em. R yours new or used? Looks like a mean looking japanese version of the Mach 1 (blue Z)
  6. yeah, that's what I read online. Twas built "there" in Canada. I couldn't find (didn't research much) HP, torque, weight stats.
  7. You're welcome, good thing they're going to a z owner not the weather or rats. The 260Z has an intact dizzy, dunno if you got it or not.
  8. Funny ****, the lotus espirit used corolla taillights and tha lambo diablo used 300z pop up headlights. What a waste of a car, its gonna end up being crushed and recycled.
  9. They're having a 50% off interior sale but no money, no seats. Hopefully somebody sees this add and gets them for real cheap. The gray cloth ones are from a late 260Z, it hasn't been completely stripped yet and theres a handfull of 280Zs. ALSO! They have this car for sale, looks like a corvette mixed with a delorean and a 280ZX Look at pictures, I wonder if anyone knows who would do this to a car.
  10. I've been DD my 260Z for almost two weeks now. Fumes and exhaust note make me light headed and dizzy if I drive it for more than 15 min at a time lol. But over all its a good car, I have a list of issues I have to fix (brakes, leaking fuel pump, locks, etc.) But they haven't stopped me from driving it to work (two blocks away) school (2 miles away)
  11. When cold, my 260Z does not start unless the choke is used... Funny thing about the choke is... The car only turns on with the choke on the right carb (carb nearest to driver) If I use both chokes, it turns on, if I use the left choke alone it does not turn on if I use the right choke alone it does turn on. The left carb (nearest to radiator) sucks in less air than the right one. I'd say its a 35% -65% thing going on between the carbs. They're either not tunned properly or is my left carb bad? THey were re-built not more than a month ago. Choke cable does not work either, its stuck in place but I already researched how to fix that I might get some brake cables from my bike, CHEAPER. Is replacing the carb(s) my only option?
  12. Thanks "letitsnow" and everyone else. the "ceja de la valvula" was the problem (valve lash) No more smoke coming out the car, 180 on all cylinders and starts right up. For the second time I blew a radiator when revving it, I'm gonna have it welded in Tijuana because I'm not buying anymore. The fan isn't stock that's why the first one scrapped the radiator and messed it up the second time I shaved it but I guess it still wasn't enough room. Looking for a stock 240-260 fan.
  13. I'm learning, little by little after reading for a few hours I start working on my car. rebuilt Carbs, headers (bought from hybridz!), cleaned out fuel lines & tank, etc. Doing little projects to get my car ready for the road.. Yesterday I ran a compression test, took off all the spark plugs and one by one each cylinder reached 180 179 182 20!!! 181 181 The fourth cylinder doesn't work? I got some advice, put a little bit of engine oil in the hole and ran another compression test on it. I was told if the test gave me anything over 100 it means most likely there are problems with the block (not sure what exactly) and if it didn't read anything or not much at all, it would have problems with the head. It read nothing at all... That means head work next week by a mechanic, with the high possibility of a modified cam from crower cams (dad used to work there, paying fifty dollars for it)
  14. I like the sound of those carbs on the vid.
  15. I'm probably gonna put a muffler too, gonna start looking around.
