  1. Uh........saw the "banned member" but paid no attention.......sorry, I'm getting old and don't see too good. chris
  2. Have you thought about an older full size truck? My hauler is a 93 Chevy Silverado. 350, auto, long wheelbase, 2 wheel drive. Has towed anything I've asked, 8 foot bed will carry most anything, and probably not too expensive to purchase. One drawback is it holds 34 gallons of gas and the best milage it ever got was about 19.89 or something when new! chris
  3. So if you live in CA and drive a Honda, you're a thief??? Thank god I live in NC......... chris
  4. Nice info bj. I didn't see any vacuum dashpots like on my 260's. Do the older ones not have any dashpots or is it only AC ones that have them? My service manual does not show them on the heaters without AC. Since I don't have AC now, I'm hoping I can do without the dashpots. chris
  5. Looking at the hi rez image on the website grumpy posted, the offending pipe is actually slip jointed. This should make it somewhat easier. Hey grumpy, I'll bring us a couple of cubans to share your brandy! chris
  6. Kinda makes me wanna throw up a lot! What with being an old school Mopar fan and all. chris
  7. Rusty floors......no?.......OK, howbout the fact that in the last 10 years it has only been 140 mi.........towed behind my truck.......no? 9+ years on 4 flat tires in the same place by it's previous owner........no, still not unique? Showing 3 distinct paint jobs?......still no? OK, howbout the fact that it presently resides on jackstands as a shell? Guess not, huh? My wife thinks it's pretty unique! chris
  8. Yeah, I just got the JTR book as well. I'm gonna blame it on Hybrid Z as a whole. Broke the news to the wife that I gotta have a 95 Z28 donor car. She immeadetly wanted to know where I was gonna park it! Damn, bought my Z at the same time I started my garage project and now both projects are suffering. Been crawling over Z parts to wire my garage. chris
  9. You might wanna research the 88-91 Honda CRX HF. This car was designed specifically for high fuel milage. This was the lightest version of the CRX and sought after by the swappers. The engine was an 8 valve (instead of 16) SOHC with very small intake runners and throttlebody, close coupled cat, and most noticable of all, a 5 speed tranny that is geared very far apart and has a very low (numerically) final drive. The engine redlined at 5k and the computer cut fuel at about 5200. HTH chris
  10. Yeah! if it was Rube, it would be powered by a falling bowling ball, kite, or flock of geese! chris
  11. That is what has turned me against the Honda community as a whole. The cars themselves are a good value, easy to mod, and have a lot of aftermarket support. My last project was a 90 CRX, DOHC swap, suspension, brakes, etc. Basically a 2000lb+ go-kart. My dd is a 94 Integra GSR (wid Vetech yo) and my wife likes her Accord. For my next project I thought I'd do something a little more mature. I wanted a Z in 1970 when I saw my first one and have wanted a first gen Z every since. Opps...... just dated myself, guess I need to shut up! chris
  12. Dude, very nice swap! If mine turns out half as good as yours, I'll be extatic! Who's long headers did you use? What car were they for and how much work was involved to get them installed? TIA chris
  13. There are two kinds of bikers, those that have been down and those that are going down. Hope you don't have a bad one! and, Yeah, as everyone else says, stay ALERT. I don't ride anymore either. chris
  14. Maximum Boost by Corky Bell is a good read on turbosystems and he covers a lot of old school stuff. Draw thru and blow thru carbs are discussed as well as all of the basics in depth. IMO it's not the turbo "bible" some make it out to be, but it's worth reading. chris
  15. Excellent job! Your website is what keeps me from getting discouraged with my 260. Now update your website! lol...... Thanks for sharing. chris
  16. A good read on crankcase venilation/evacuation. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935 Hope this helps some. chris
  17. You might wanna look at 240hoke's website http://www.geocities.com/projectzt/EBrail.html He has a lot of good info posted on this and other Z fixes. chrid
  18. So can a lawnmower........that's what I usually find them with. Mikelly, congrats on 40. Not that bad, 50 is just around the corner. Don't ask me how I know that. chris
  19. This is a 50 page thread from Honda-Tech. There is some techincal info if you are patient enough to get thru the thread. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1225182 HTH chris
  20. Looks like a 56 Ford. chris
  21. Probably showing my age here but.....long ago I read a book called "The Peter Principle" (best I remember). Basically it states that people in their jobs are promoted to their level of "incopentency". IOW they are promoted and their responsibilities increase untill they become incompetent. That is where they remain untill termination or they quit and start over. Explains a lot, huh? chris
