  1. Cody - beautiful bro.. LEt us the specs on you L28 - looks awesome. I am sure you must be getting excited! Yasin
  2. ZR8ED - Good point - I have been using Goodyear Silicone hoses for my intercooler for a while all bought at the local CaterpillerHydraulic dealer - super cheap and excellent quality. Also the T-bolts which are like $4-5 a piece on Turbonetics website are $1.75 at the CaterpillerHydraulic dealer. HA - you watch the local diesel and backhoe shops will all become speed shops soon. Sounds like you are having fun humbling the folks on the 401 and in Southern Ontario. I lived in TO for 20years and miss the spring and summer there. I have followed the build up of your VGTurbo Z - thats awesome you are having fun in it - especially at 18psi. Well all the best. What Z shops are still around? SanrocWhitehead Performance? Regards - Yasin
  3. Mike - I recently replaced the rubber lines on my '83 ZXT. I bought my set (inexpensively) from cyberauto.com and they are made by Goodrich. They are excellent quality braided lines BUT I had to buy an A&N male to female adapter as well to adapt these lines at the calliper end - just a word of caution. You can see pics of my install at www.picturetrail.com/slownrusty Regards - Yasin
  4. They will fit your car for sure as they are 4x4.5". But if you look at the applications the buyer has listed its all for FWD cars so be prepared to run these wheels with spacers (depending on their offset and backspacing) and possibly you may need longer wheel studs as well. Good luck to ya - Yasin
  5. A 20B or a 13B Turbo would be a sick swap for sure in a Z. The idea of a 20b Turbo would be simply exotic and a beast for sure - like you say FreewayZ the torque would pickup the car and make it walk. I have seen lots of 13b rotaries in 510 Datsuns but never in a Z. If you want to see an awesome 20b website go to: www.3rotor.com FYI Len - the 20b came only in the JDM Mazda Cosmos and they were all autos, but the 5 speed off the FC and FDs bolt right up to them. Yasin
  6. I am using PBR Axxis Metalmaster on my white '83ZXT (looks like a sister car to yours)and they really bring the car down quickly. Stops on a dime and gives you back 9cents change. I bought the pads from Brake Parts Warehouse Online. Hope that helps - Yasin
  7. From the last joint MR2300ZX Colorado Meet. Unfortunate incident from driving through the Colorado Rockies at high speeds, where the turns are sharp and you have know your limit not the cars. The driver is fine and walked away. Be careful out there peoples! http://www.board.mr2faq.com/showthread.php?threadid=105459 Yasin
  8. RWD Corollas are BOSS! I have one too. If its not an SR5 model then it will have the T40 4speed gearbox. Good news is you can make a trip to the scrap yard get a 5speed (T50) gearbox and voila (and all bolt in too!). Also you will probably have the 2TC engine. And they are extremely stout engines - this is the same family of engines that are propelling many of the 9second Puerto Rican Drag Cars. If you have any questions on the car let me know and I can help you out - as I am huge Toyota nutta. Congrats on your new acquisition. Yasin
  9. Kevin the name of the magazine is "ZOOM" - the edition number is 43. Its an Australian magazine - its got some other neat articles in there too. Regards - Yasin
  10. Hey Gang - There is a great feature on a black 240Z with a RB30 block running the RB25 Twin Turbo head putting out 280kW (380hp) to the wheels. Neat article, with great pics and a stuning car. Magazine is $7.95 Yasin
  11. 7MGTE - Toyota Supra Engine available from 1986.5 to 1992 "7M" - Engine Family "G" - Toyota designation for Twin Cam "T" - Turbo Charged "E" - Electronic Fuel Injection Z32 - 1990 to 1996 Nissan 300ZX Chassis Code with an "a" usually means its an automatic Hope that helps ya. In Japan (and catching on here in the U.S) they never refer to cars by their regular names like "Maxima" or "Corolla" its always done in regards to chassis code like "Z32" and engine code like "VG30DETT" Yasin
  12. From the RX7 board - absolutely horrific and solemn story: "Late last night(October 26th) around 11pm I left my girlfriends house because I was starting to get tired and I didn't want to drive my 'new' '94 Vintage Red RX-7 while I was half-awake. As I was walking inside to my house, my parents pulled up, coming home from a concert at the Houma Civic Center. I told them hi and that I was going to bed. Around 11:30-11:40 my dad called up to me from downstairs, "Brandon! Let's go for a ride in your car! ...but only if I drive!" Well I got dressed again, since I was already in bed, and me and my dad got into my car and drove off. As we pulled out of my subdivision he went through the gears...grinding 3rd...and then about 4 miles up the road he stopped at a gas station and gave me a complimentary fill-up. Thanks, dad! Then we left, driving on a road that bordered a bayou. He was testing out the capabilities of the car about 70% since I had just purchased it 4 days earlier from a seller in Houston. We turned on a bridge that crossed the bayou and headed back towards the house on an adjacent road on the opposite side the bayou as before. He was going around 70-80mph when there was a hump about 3 1/2' high coming up on a slow left hand turn with a slow right turn right after. He started to take the slow left. We hit the hump. The springs compressed. The springs rebounded as the hump was receding. My dad turned the wheel to the right and the back end started sliding out. My dad muttered, "Oh **** ..."We were sliding completely backwards now...towards the bayou. I heard a loud CRASH, noticed a slight fall(about 4 feet), then I felt water rushing inside the car. My window was open, but his was closed. We were both buckled in. I manged to get out of the car before my head even went under the water...which I still don't know how I managed. I screamed my dad's name ...no reply. Then as I was treading water, I felt the car hit my foot. I immediately tried my hardest to swim under and grab my dad loose. No dice. I swam to the shore and ran to the closest house which was around 400 yards away. I yelled at them to call 911, which they did. Once I got back to the scene it had been 10 minutes at the least. I alredy knew he was gone. Ambulances, police, firetrucks, a wrecker, tons of people were there. I didn't want to look when they took the car out of the bayou, but the paramedic said he was still buckled in. The happiest day of my life(getting my RX-7), was immediately followed by the worst. This was the first time someone close to me died ...and damn was he close to me. Before we wrecked he was just commenting on how fast it was and how amazing it handled. "It just sticks to the road like fly on flypaper," he said. My father's name was Wayne Rushing. He owned his own want-ad paper called "The Weekly Want Ad's." He was only 50 years young. He had so many plans to look forward to. In the coming days I'll try my hardest to get a picture of the car(before/after), the wreck scene, and of my father. Please guys. Slow down on public roads. You NEVER expect things like this to happen when you go out for a 'fun drive' with your girlfriend, best friend, mom/dad ...whoever. I don't want anyone to go through the **** I'm going through right now. Please, take care. Brandon Rushing" My deepest condolences to the Rushing family.
  13. Bumble Bee - say that the file is temporarily unavailable and I got all excited too...aw shucks! Yasin
  14. Jens - wow sweet Twin Turbo L28! Awesome. Yasin
  15. Here is why we own Zs: “A family friend has a Cadillac STS thats a few years old and just coming off warranty - now remember that this is pretty much the most expensive sedan that GM builds. This year alone it has been in the shop for $3500 worth of repairs - mostly electronic sensors or electrical failure. No mechanic would touch it because of all of the electronics so the owners have to take it back to the Caddy dealer each time. Two weeks ago the electronically controlled tranny was stuck in 2nd gear. So the car gets towed to the dealer. The owners get the car back - bill:$1700! Then after two short days the driver's side door handle fell off in their driveway! So now the car is for sale - the door handle falling off was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back" The Northstar might be a decent engine - but thats about it - rest of the car is crap! So stick to your Zs gang! Yasin
  16. You need a spacer so that the stock ball and socket linkage lines up with the 240SX TB shaft. Yasin
  17. Looking forward to seeing it as well Jeff - thanks for the update! Yasin
  18. have you checked your clutch master cylinder? That could be a definate source for oil inside the car. Regards - Yasin
  19. Hi, I am not at 285hp yet (hoping soon!), but I have turned up the wick on my ZXT and I am running the Flex-a-lite twin slimline electric fans (part number 210) and I have run the car during the summer (+90F) with no signs of overheating. They continue to keep running after the car is shut down, which is a good feature as the water pump is no longer running to cool the motor down. I bought the fans from Summit racing BTW. Took me a weekend to install and wire-up but I am happy with their performance to date and I was pleased that I was able to remove the heavy (and parasitic) clutch fan. Hope that helps - Yasin
