  1. Sent you a PM to avoid hijacking BitchnZ's thread.
  2. I think he meant Wax/Grease Remover. As for beveling, I would bevel and cut the edges down and make sure everything was smooth with no sharp edges. Depends on how large your cracks are you may need to reinforce them to give the foam something to "grab" onto.
  3. I have some straps from a 1978 280Z coupe, if they are compatible with yours.
  4. Glad you got everything squared away. Hope it holds up...
  5. Doing my normal surfing before bed, I found this site called Southern Performance Systems LS conversion kit for the 280z. I was curious if anyone has used them and had any opinions on their kit compared to the JCI and JTR kits. http://southernperformancesystems.com/Parts/BRP/75-78-datsun.html I searched around and didn't see anyone use them yet. Maybe another option to try for folks.
  6. Very nice, if I can ask did they say how much it was going for? Best place I found it was around $175 + shipping.
  7. My brother had nothing but issues on an 02 Audi A4 that he thought he picked up for a steal, it wound up costing him a bunch of cash then it got flooded out in Houston once it was working. Out of those choices, I would pick the Prelude. Easy to fix, and easy to find parts unmolested or not. Find one cheap with a decent motor, dump a few bucks and your good to go for a year or 2. I always had a Honda for the past 16 years in my driveway. If open to civics, just like Cockerstar said, good mileage, cheap, and if want it to look different, they are mods out the ass to make it look unique.
  8. When I use Ospho, I try scaping the goo off then apply one more time before I prime/paint/whatevertodonext.
  9. I have a tank from a 78 that will need to be cleaned, along with a vapor tank also,
  10. I have a set from a 78, can shoot a pic if needed when I get back in town Monday

I was pretty sure I followed the guidelines provide and tried to be as informative as possible with information and made sure all replies were seen, probably was too many bumps from making sure I replied to folks? Oh well, will just post items one by one and go from there.
  12. I appreciate your effort of sharing information. I for one will be doing a conversion in about a year and been saving and documenting information as I find relevant to my LS1 conversion. I find some of the headaches and fixes of others interesting in seeing the cause and solutions if I ever run into them. Thanks again!!

Was curious where my post in Parts for Sale went? It was there yesterday and today I can't seem to find it there or in my history.
  14. Not sure if anyone had the same issue I had, but invest in a full face mask. The first day I had a mask and had no issues. The next 2 days, I only had a respirator and the fumes screwed me up for a few days. Post some pictures too, would love to see your progress.
  15. I found the Eastwood MIG 135 is decent for most small projects and good enough to work on the Z, can usually find it on sale with free shipping, I got it for $299. Just need to time it right. I am a novice at it and I am doing well on everything. I am also using gas 80/20 argon/co2 mix. Lots of practice too to get familiar with dialing in on various thickness to get a proper weld. If you decide to do more can always find on craigslist a lincoln/miller 220v.
  16. Last winter, me and my best friend painted his car in my carport. We did a 3 coats of primer and we spent most of 1 day wet sanding from 400 to 2000. We could tell where we just screw it at 800. As tooquick said, if you have a metallic flake in your paint your not suppose to sand that or your flake will either lay down, break, or look dull where you sanded. (We knew this but tried to sand and was very noticeable where we did it, stood out like a sore thumb) Clear was the most difficult for us, but it was just because it gets everywhere. Just need a steady hand and don't lay it too thick. Prep work and cleanliness is key. Let it bake for a few days, then spend the next few weekends buffing the clear by hand. I found it enjoyable, if I had a larger place I would do it more often.
  17. This made me laugh hysterically. Fiance had to see what the hell I did now, and told me that woulda been something I woulda done. Sorry for the derail, but very cool idea.
  18. I still can't see why some folks would want to download/watch porn at work, knowing you could get fired and caught. Over the past year, 4 employees at my property were let go (2 hourly employees watching it in the break room, 1 manager, and 1 who had a picture on the wall from the previous supervisor) because of porn or very inappropriate items. My department got flagged a few years ago, when one of the supervisors was researching a picture to draw Casper the friendly ghost for one of the employee kid's birthday and a virus straight to porn. Within 5 minutes IT and security were inside the office going what are you doing. Still a running joke to this day.
  19. I have done the same thing, for some reason we have alot of folks who are not computer savvy or just don't know how to actually use the database. There is one server that is private to hold all information that is sensitive including personal folders. Then there is the company corporate server that is public (to an extent) that folks plaster all their personnel info, their employee info, and "all the not so smart you shouldn't write any of this you can get fired stuff". I did find some things that annoyed me, but can't act on it since I wasn't suppose to be there in the first place. I just play the happy employee in the open, but when in my office I just go whatever ...
  20. Tabco's website is out to date and prices haven't been adjusted. If I remember the phone number they have on their site is old too. Their new number is 216-320-0140. I recently called and ordered new doglegs and lower front fender pieces and paid by phone and got 3 of my 4 items in less than a week. Items fit decently, but like with most panels just a bit of elbow grease is needed. I think Black dragon and MSA both sources their parts from Tabco too.
  21. Not all whores, lol.
